madmatt01 107 #28 Posted May 24, 2016 Tool it for a test drive. Good fun. Need a brake cylinder and also brakes themselves need looking at. Need a decent fuel tank. Other than that it looks all together (except the cutters) Have hight hopes for it already. Nice set or rear tractor tyres, original tractor seat, painted up in yellow and white possibly. Not bad for £160. Happy days! 1 pmackellow reacted to this
Stormin 4,458 #29 Posted May 24, 2016 Good buy at £160. Interesting drive train. Is it one wheel drive? Or a live axle through the box section chassis rear end?
pmackellow 2,738 #30 Posted May 24, 2016 Welcome to the forum Matt Nice buy and something a bit different
madmatt01 107 #31 Posted May 24, 2016 Live axel... me and dad lifted the rear end and both wheels span
nigel 1,876 #32 Posted May 24, 2016 I would not be able to leave it alone if it was mine, first job would be taking 2" of each side of the axles, then some nice round trailer mudguards
Stormin 4,458 #33 Posted May 24, 2016 That could make steering fun. Permanent diff lock. 1 madmatt01 reacted to this

madmatt01 107 #39 Posted May 24, 2016 This is true! Found this bit off info on the kohler engine.... if it's the correct engine of the tractor the serial number starts with a 3 which would make it 1972.. if it is that old I would be well happy!
Stormin 4,458 #40 Posted May 24, 2016 I've got to stop looking at this. I'm starting to want one. 1 DevonianRedneck reacted to this

Beni86 0 #45 Posted February 24, 2020 Hi guys New to this I’ve found a Horwool Triplex 84 in really good shape and price I was just wondering how heavy is it as I’m about to collect it with my van (it has got the cutters on it ) Thanks in advance
Stormin 4,458 #46 Posted February 24, 2020 Ben. Weight wise, at a guess 3/4 to a ton with the mowers. What's the van?
Beni86 0 #47 Posted February 24, 2020 I have a xlwb Fiat Ducato and I can load a tonn on it
Stormin 4,458 #48 Posted February 24, 2020 Should be ok. You could always go to a weigh bridge just to be sure. Weigh van loaded with tractor. The way you'd have an idea of the tractors weight. BTW. Where are you located?
nigel 1,876 #49 Posted February 24, 2020 That will be well under weight
madmatt01 107 #50 Posted February 24, 2020 Hi Ben, They are quite a heavy machine but not to bad. I would guess 3 - 400 kg. Maybe half ton with the cutters on. Very simple design and good fun to work on. I sold mine just before Christmas. With the large rear tractor wheels the chap i sold it to just got it in the back of a Nissan pick up truck. 2 nigel and Stormin reacted to this
