I lost track of this thread while I was moving. Hopefully you have everything you need to get your Aquabug up and running. Looking forward to hearing how the project is going. DCM 2 #157 Posted July 24, 2023 I did get this Aquabug running recently. I bought the gasket and diaphragm on ebay. I do have question on if anyone knows where i can purchase a throttle handle. The aquabug runs and sounds good but has a small leak coming from part of the carburetor, see in picture, i don't know what its called. any advice would be helpful. Also the starter pulley return sounds like it needs lubrication its slow to return and makes a lot of noise any advice would help. I`m sorry I haven`t responded because I just worked on it a couple of weeks ago. If it wasn`t for all your advice and help, I never would have got this running. Wallfish 698 #158 Posted July 31, 2023 Difficult to find throttle and cable for that. You're going to have to get creative like using a mini bike throttle kit. That leak is at the governor spring. Fuel shouldn't be passing the little ball bearing check valve in the carb unless the engine is running. When running it shouldn't be leaking because all the fuel is being sucked into the engine to run. You might have to pull the carb apart and clean the bearing and seat real well because it should seal. Or replace that bearing too
DCM 2 #159 Posted July 31, 2023 Okay, I will try cleaning first. Are the parts available if needed? I`m assuming the ball bearing check valve is one piece with no actual ball bearing. Could it also actually be its getting too much fuel and the needle valve needs to be adjusted? Also the recoil pull cord is sluggish or slow and sounds like it needs lubrication or something. Throttle handle is broken but functional. It has a clamp around it, but want to be prepared in case it breaks. Thank you for responding its been four years since I first and last posted, i never really had the time to work on it. If you click on my DCM link it should take you to my post of the motor running. i couldn`t fit in this post.
Sharri Dandy 5 #160 Posted August 2 Just got my hands on a little Perry Aquabug. Reasonable condition but the fuel tank and cover are missing. Bit of a long shot but does anyone have any spares?

Personally I think they look better without the plastic cover and with a regular O&R gas tank, so maybe go with that until you can locate the proper tank and cover. CNew 404 #162 Posted August 3 I’m with Wallfish, I also think they look better without the cover and with a standard gas tank.
Sharri Dandy 5 #163 Posted August 3 Nice idea. I can see that working. I'll have a rummage later and see what I have. Sure I have one. I might be back on looking for a tank. Thank you

Sharri Dandy 5 #166 Posted August 5 With postage and tax that's a good bit more than I paid for the Aquabug delivered. I shouldn't keep putting a price on these things and think of the end result. May just hold out for something a wee bargain as I am in no rush.
Wallfish 698 #167 Posted August 6 The original Aquabug gas tanks are fairly hard to come by. The cap has a little fold-able vent and when it's left closed the tank is sealed tight, then change in temperature will cause pressure which expands and contracts the air inside, and that cracks the plastic seems. That's exactly what happened to my first one so I learned to leave that vent open. Pretty sure many of them met their demise the same way when being stored. Sharri Dandy 5 #168 Posted August 6 Well I'm in the market for one if one ever becomes available. Even if I'm waiting a few years
