Alan 1,273 #51 Posted December 7, 2019 Got a good selection of those bushes myself Chris. Also from John's. Using a pair for my project now. The way you have positioned the two chassis's on the lift will confuse you. You won't know if you are coming or going. 1 the showman reacted to this

the showman 4,074 #53 Posted December 8, 2019 Small update as it’s a day of rest. Ive sanded off the steering parts and given them a primer fitted together and fitted them in the chassis’s. Ive noticed the Lawn Ranger doesn’t have the bush at the end of the lower rod and its not listed in the parts manual but as i have a few in stock I’ve fitted them. 7 Cub Cadet, Joseph, Stormin and 4 others reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #54 Posted December 10, 2019 Bill and Ben get their hoodstands cleaned up and a coat of primer today. Had a look at the side panels and they look a bit rotten along the bottom and ive only got one pair so I’m gonna need some sheet tin to make a new pair. 6 Alan, Triumph66, Ian and 3 others reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #55 Posted December 12, 2019 Today I’ve been looking at track-rods, all the ones i have seem to have play in them and as ive got a few ends in stock I thought I’d make some new ones without buying anything. Started with a length of rod cut into 4 lengths and machined down in the lathe and threads cut. Done two to see if they work which they do so I’ll make another pair tomorrow. 7 Triumph66, Joseph, nigel and 4 others reacted to this
Stormin 4,458 #56 Posted December 12, 2019 When I did the ones on the Black Horse, I used the badly worn ones off the C-125, cut down and threaded. The originals off the Black Horse went on the C-125. Saved buying bar.
the showman 4,074 #57 Posted December 12, 2019 I didn’t buy the bar either, it came from Johns . 1 Alan reacted to this

Alan 1,273 #59 Posted December 12, 2019 1 hour ago, the showman said: I didn’t buy the bar either, it came from Johns . I expect some of the ends did too. How did you cut the threads. Lathe or by hand. ? Either way, looks good. 1 the showman reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #60 Posted December 12, 2019 I cut the threads by hand Alan, I’m not that advanced with my lathe work yet. 1 Alan reacted to this
Triumph66 1,256 #61 Posted December 13, 2019 Brilliant workmanship as usual Chris and cracking on with your projects as well. 1 the showman reacted to this

the showman 4,074 #65 Posted December 18, 2019 Now Bill and Ben have their front axles fitted with spindles and track-rods. Steering feels nice and positive so I’m pleased with that. 8 Stormin, Triumph66, pmackellow and 5 others reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #66 Posted December 20, 2019 Looking in skips as i do, I found some sheets of tin I thought would come in handy and they were free. 5 Cub Cadet, Alan, Ian and 2 others reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #67 Posted December 20, 2019 looking at the rear wheels, I think there Knackered as they’ve rusted through the bolt holes and I don’t have anymore although I have some narrow 12 inch wheels that would fit on the tranny with hubs. That raises another problem with the rear fender that i found when i offered it all up. Uuummmm. 2 2 Cub Cadet, Alan, Stormin and 1 other reacted to this
nigel 1,876 #68 Posted December 20, 2019 I would say there’s a clue here ,with what you found in the skip 😄 1 the showman reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #69 Posted December 21, 2019 Had a look at the brakes today or lack of them now I’ve got some skip metal. First job to cut 2 strips, had to use the jig saw then drill to holes and bolt it on. Then bend it round the pulley and weld the piece of angle on. 4 Stormin, Alan, Ian and 1 other reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #70 Posted December 21, 2019 I’ve got some brake linings from a Morris marina ( i think ) that i will bond to the band. All bonded up with high power adhesive so will fit them all tomorrow. 6 pmackellow, Ian, Cub Cadet and 3 others reacted to this
Stormin 4,458 #71 Posted December 21, 2019 Good job, Chris. I'll not ask where the Marina linings came from. 2 2 pmackellow, Triumph66, the showman and 1 other reacted to this

Triumph66 1,256 #73 Posted December 25, 2019 Good progress made and the photos are great to ascertain how bits goes back together and how things works. You should do a Haynes Manual Chris! 3 pmackellow, Alan and the showman reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #74 Posted December 25, 2019 Managed to get some shed time today while Pam was at the stove. Ive offered up the side panels and fitted the rear hubs and wheels, I wanted to fit the 12 inch wheels instead of the 8 inch as they had rotted away but in doing so I’ve got to lift the rear fender over 3 inches to get clearance and it looks out of place. 2 Triumph66 and pmackellow reacted to this
the showman 4,074 #75 Posted December 25, 2019 While i was having a cuppa and a mince pie i came up with another idea, I borrowed the rear fender kit off my Suburban to see how it looks. Now i only have one original fender so do i make 4 8inch wheels, or 2 tool trays and 4 fenders. How hard can that be . 7 Triumph66, Cub Cadet, Ian and 4 others reacted to this
