    Ransoms.

Had run over to an old friend who is a bit of a Ransom addict. Well more than a bit. 11 at the last count and a goodly collection of various implements. Unfortunately they were all tucked away. But a few photo's for you. He's had a look at MoM, so hopefully he will come along and tell us about them.

They're rated at 3/4 to 1 HP. All the engines, except for the VERY early models, have the same bore. Other small changes gained the HP from 3/4 to 1. They are decaled at 3/4, .85 and 1 HP. The trigger on this drill does not control the speed. Engine runs at a governed 6300 rpm all the time and the trigger is the on/off switch.

Thaught I'd share a couple of pictures of my Mountfield m4 and boadicea after mowing the lawns at my old house I have just recently got the Mountfield going and it runs like a dream and the boadicea is one of my favourites in my collection and again runs like a dream.

    Wheelhorse Freebee

Had a phone call from a fellow member that there was a free Wheelhorse to a good home on Red-Square local to me. After a quick response I managed to speak to the owner, he didn't know what model it was only that the engine was up front. with the help of Mr Mackellow and his trailer we went to collect it. I was thrilled to bits to find a 1974 Raider 12, 8 speed with almost a new deck . Had a quick look after tea and it spins over, so a drop of fuel tomorrow and it should fire up,

    Bolens 1886

Thought I would have a problem! It kept hunting today & did not want to respond well to ajustments So I took the jets etc out of the old carb body as they had done less work, cleaned them up & fitted them. Got more responce now. We will see how it runs when its under load with the deck, which is the next to sort
