    Project "Why Not"

It's been a busy but very worth while day in the shack The Honda started to look a little less complete.. But eventually it gave up it's grip on the engine. Getting it on the bench was interesting, I had to "walk" it up a plank! A view from the back.. Sooooo... The big question was, will the engine fit in the Raider without having to trim the hood or extend the chassis??? You bet it did :D I can't stop grinning

    Project "Why Not"

Evening Chaps, sorry to of kept you waiting on this announcement of the new project or the revamped plans for project Zero-ish turn.. Thanks for the many funny guesses, you have kept me laughing The reason for keeping you waiting is I was waiting for a rather major part to turn up.. A big THANK YOU to Ben for collecting this for me, ta muchly mate Soooooo..What am engine am I fitting in this? Here's a clue.. Here's a bigger clue Here's an even bigger clue.. Yes that's right, Project "Why Not" is being fitted with this beast of an engine.. 500cc water cooled V twin that knocks out 48hp with 5 speed box Honda and Wheel Horse.. Soon to become joined in marriage Oh, the person who guessed the closest was Norm... It's not the engine from Garry's trike, but it is the same engine and this bike did in fact come from Garry

SOME MORE RIDE ON`S + IMPLEMENTS

Should this be in the 'Home built items' section? Pulled this out of the spare stable/hay barn, I made this a couple of years ago out of an old oxy bottle, some scrap channel, an old oak fence post, (for bearings) J D front wheels and other assorted pieces from the 'come in handy' pile. My original intention was to make a smaller version of the fold up rollers the big boys use and pull it behind the Wheelhorse, but I ran out of spare bottles. With the wheels in place it fits nicely through the stable door. By pulling the lever the roll is lifted or lowered. The spike tooth harrow is one of a set of three I bought from the 'Cheffins' machinery sale a couple of months ago

Thanks mate, it do look good. Thanks Norm, yep the engine does look just right in there. Thought you would like it Ben Once I had the engine out I knew there was no way I could stop for the day with seeing the engine in place Thanks Neil, I'm really looking forward to the build too and of course the fun of driving it Hi Charlie.. Will the be videos soon??? But of course Thanks for that, it looks a heavy duty bit of kit.. Nigel dropped in today and once he had stopped grinning at the project he says he might well have a right angles gearbox thingy I can use. Ta muchly Nigel Here you are Charlie, the first video of Project "Why Not"

Hi Ian, some pic`s of the gearbox I was given, it has slight damage to the keyway on the output shaft, I`m not sure what Kubota deck it came off but it was quite big, rough dim`s are 150 x 150 x 120mm output shaft is approx 150mm long & 25mm dia. No doubt you can find something similar, I was told these things new are around £1500. Could you not use the internals from the bike hub & fabricate a case to suit ? Having seen previous examples of your work I`m sure it would not be too dificult

Work on my Wheel Horse Raider 20 6X6

The time had come to check the drive chain for fit, but first I had to do a bit of trimming to make some clearance space.. Woo Hoo, the chain fit's without hitting anything. I'd best cover up the holes now Of course not having a bit of box the same size going spare I had to cut and shut some smaller stuff. With the outrigger off and clamped to some rather hefty box to stop it warping, it was serious welding time.. Ta Daa

    My Latest Project

It should run well. Its factory rated at 200 horsepower, but I've already turned up the fuel on the injection pump, as well as making an adjustable boost controller for the turbo, and I'm planning on running about 15-18 psi, as opposed to the factor 8-10 psi. You know how it is Ian. I just got sucked into my project. It should be a very handy truck when done. Its still going to be awhile as I, and my family are leaving the country for 10 days on Monday. We're going to Nicaragua, so my truck will have to wait a little longer. Got a few more pieces back on the engine today. Here are a couple pics. Thanks
