Found a few bits in stock from Johns, a 1/4 bit of plate , a length of 3/8 bar and a couple of old cam belt idler pulleys, ive used an old brake drum that happened to be the right size and had a nice lip on to bend to. After a clean up with the grinder and spray with primer I transferred my blueprint on to it. With a few clamps and lots of heat ive got this far. -

1 pointPut a couple of pegs in the plate by the cam wheels. They'll help hold things in place when you bend round the cam wheels. Some either side of the large radius in three places will help as well..
