  1. whatever the issue, you need to strip it. It could be a selector fork worn or bent...
  2. fab stuff, so can we say mk1 had flat footrests and central gear select before moving to column change and sloping footrests? I note the main dash decal stayed the same for quite a while, but the ignition, lights and warning decals changed a few times?
  3. looks like a good project - we've a basket case in for work at the moment - a W11 paleface.
  4. looking good - currently got two Westwoods - T1600 and W11. Trying to pull more of the history of the early models together on them if anyone know more. Looks like early models are 1980'ish with gear change in the usual place and steel grills? Anyone got any old brochures on the early models?
  5. Not that the GT14 needs it, but this will end up on the front of bendy - when I finish the hitch arms that I've been making for 2 years Here you go - the old 5 gallon water tank from the loft - filled with concrete... perfect 100lb weight that once painted red will look factory. best get that front hitch sorted...
  6. I didn't try - it weights a few tons and was being pulled by a 220hp tractor most of the day!
  7. 8ft roller, 19 acres - easy peasy
  8. free! The power of farcebook....
  9. At a price I couldn’t resist... we acquired this very tidy Westwood 16 hydro with sweeper. Reckon it only has 50 hours on it. No battery, fuel pipes persished, flat tyre, etc. watch this space....
  10. yeah, he phoned me on tuesday... shame!
  11. It lives.... I thought the carb was a goner as it had so much black tar inside that I couldn’t get out. Fortunately brother has an ultrasonic cleaning tank. Sorted IMG_9179.MOV
  12. Its a Briggs 9hp electric start. Quite a new version engine, just not on this project...
  13. They fetch good money, the last one I was bidding on went for £1700 unless you have a secret supply then we have to pay these prices...
  14. useful to know Chris, C4 has a 241AS...
  15. Keeping original would be good, but if a later k241 with starter will fit then happy with that. There’s a lot more to the older type, and getting a starter and regulator that work is tricky.
  16. After 10 years of exclusive WH ownership, I’ve turned to the dark side. picked this up from the Essex coast the other night after a mammoth 11 hour round trip. it’s in average condition, not much rust. But has the scars of an engine transplant. It’s a tidy job, but they’ve chopped the hood and chassis... looking for a few bits: kohler k241 engine dunlop implement tyre 6-12
  17. Looking good Ian, look forward to the next project
  18. Tomas, when did you mail me (restorationdecals)? My son usually replies immediately, orders usually take a few weeks due to other commitments. We've just done a print run last week.... thanks
  19. wanted to go this year wit the horses - but clashed with missus 50th... so didn't even go there
  20. Sad times Ian, we had some good times in the shack and loved bring part of some of your crazy schemes! the shop might be closing, but the legend lives on... give me regards to Mandy. Really need to get down and see you soon.
  21. a few of you have seen my field - all over the place and full of reeds, thistles and nettles. A strimmer doesn't work and a wheel horse deck has no chance. So I have gone large. A 1.45m flail - which really make the tractor sweat don't have many pics as I was mowing! took half a day to get through 2.5 acres of thick grass and a tank of diesel picked up a trailer at the same time, that helps too!
  22. thanks guys! a weekend of eating and drinking - in between a spot of fencing...
