Pity my BIG LONG trailer doesn't have a battery.
Yet!
-
Listen who's talking. Who has remote movers on his caravan?
-
I reckon I could do something use full with the walk behind dumper. With some more room and time.
-
Today I took the rear tow ball attachment that fits the Black Horses tool bar, packed out the ball to channel and it now fits the Black Horse and Sears GT16.
-
-
Can't remember if I did or didn't. I think I did. I'll see what happens tomorrow.

This little diff found it's way north from John's place. I'm guessing off a John Deere, as it has numbers on and the initials JD.
The internals are in excellent condition.
The two outer splined shafts that carry the hubs? turn but in opposite directions. The large splined shaft is fixed and turns the whole diff in the case.
Any ideas?

I've done as suggested. Pulled the cap off the front plug, at idle and full revs. Ran on the rear cylinder ok and when replaced ran on two. Seems to make no difference. So I guess the coil is ok. Checked the breather pipes as well. They are fine also.
-
Thanks for that, Angus. I'll give it a try. It's the boxer twin with one coil.
-
Hi Alan. You most likely did. I'll be looking at them.

Decided to see if I could get the B&S 16hp engine in the Sears to run a tad better. I'd a had go at the carb earlier in the week and changed the plugs. That stopped the spitting back in the carb and improved things. When I removed the old plugs, the front cylinder one was wet. Faulty plug maybe. Hence new plugs.
Today I found the operators manual on the net and the recommended gap is 30 thou. I'd set them at 25 as a guesstimate. So plugs out and low and behold the front plug was again wet. No misfiring or spitting back though. Engine running fine. My thoughts are a bias on the manifold. Anyone have any other suggestions?
I also followed the procedure for setting the carb after refitting the plugs. Again engine running fine. I was going to have a look at the plugs again to see what the front one was like, but I got side tracked. I'll do that tomorrow.

That's this topic killed off.

Below is a photo of the hinge mod.
I think the reason the pins broke, was a combination of the rough ground on the Saturday night drive round at Newby. The cattle grid we had to cross to and from the horticultural section. And the gap twixt bonnet and grill. All the weight of the front of the bonnet being on the hinge pins.
You can see in the photo two square blocks on the grill top outer corners. Those are rubber and now support the bonnet front.
In hind sight, I could have just left the original, and better looking, hinges on and just replaced the pins.
And before any critical comments, a bit of filler required yet to cover where the old hinges fitted.

Had to do a little mod to the Sears today. On the Saturday night drive around at Newby Hall, one of the bonnet hinge pins broke. Temporary fix with a cable tie kept things in place. When I unloaded on returning home, I found the other one had broken. Rough ground and 113 miles on the trailer proved a bit much for them.
So this afternoon two stronger hinges where fitted. Need to be painted yet and that will most likely be done tomorrow.
These should be fine if not as nice as the ones Alan made.

Looks like you have a good play ground, you lucky so and so. Not to mention a good supply of logs. Not that I'm envious.
-
Oh look at all those hydraulics.
-
Looking forward to the light display.

You may be able to use an old ball bearing out off a ball bearing. If you can find one small enough.

Like your tattoo, but not sure about your choice of footwear and trousers.

I need room to hide work.
