  1. looks like someone turned it into a sod cutter.
  2. well its easy to understand this. At one time the wheel horse "demonstrators" were painted blue, then red when sold. It was a simple case of confusion.

the gold looks great until you have to find and match the color. The blue is easy to get.

I have 11 different Suburban riders, and I don't really know how many walk-behinds, but there are several. Some of the walkers are from the 30's, and of the iron wheel age, then theres a bunch that post war with the familiar bullet nose/ rubber tire era. There used to be 100 tractors here, but over the last few yrs I have cut it back to 40 or 50. Its hard to keep track of, since I go though them, use them a yr, then put them back up, or trade one off for something that makes me curious. Going to be putting up another 20x20ft building this yr, to keep some of them from sitting out doors, after we redo them.

my son and I had a little tractor party tonite, in my little shop, and got a few of the workers repaired. My oldest(59) model, got a new reverser belt, as the old one threw a chunk out, the newer(59) needed a different carb, and my sons 1962 "600", got a new replacement engine that I found, that only has a few hours on it. Here a picture of a room full of David Bradley riding machines and attachments.
  6. well lets also here it for the British people, who are just about the toughest folks on earth, who did with out everything of comfort, and were led by a great man who said never surrender!! Thank god you stood tall, or there never would be been a beach to launch the D day from.
  7. I find it interesting that you think this way. I see many cool pictures of English and other counties machine that sit out in the weather, too far to retrieve. It would seem that we are mostly confronted with being separated by a common ocean.
  8. Hhmmm, I don't see a picture of a single Cuckoo. Just a bunch of nice tractors.
  9. Really nice of you to go all out and post some pictures for those of us who cant go and enjoy it in person. your a first rate man.
  10. I agree with Neil post, and would also add that you have many more new friends across the pond. even thought we cant attend a club or show there, we can get together here.
  11. nice looking ride, even matches those wheel horses.
  12. sad day when this kind of thing happens. people wonder why collectors don't want to bring out there stuff, all you have to do is share this story. Glad you got it back into better hands.

    My President

look you got it wet and it shrunk up.
  18. I think those little howards are pretty cute, makes you want to hug one.
  19. I like to get pic's while running the machines, but on this day I was just one with the land, and had to settle with a static photo. It was running good enough I could stand on the land side and guide it with one hand most of the time. Love to be able to get one tuned in enough to have it self plow. Not a lot of good adjustable parts on a DB, your pretty much stuck with the one crank to lower the point of the share. I have another brand of tractor, that I believe I can add some controls to and maybe it will run its self.
  20. a fellow would have to get that one, just for the cool factor of the fuel tank. nice save,
  21. Wow, I would have thought it a required British thing to be able to plow. You guys always kick butt in the world matches. I have a little over a 1/3 acre here at the house, that is the test ground and garden. If I want to plow a bigger field I have to drive 12mls down to the farm, where I can do any part of the 500 acres at that site. I usually goes there and plow up an acre, with the walkers. You haven't lived until you have plow a straight 1/2 ml forrow, and then have to turn around and come back. The ground down there is a heavier clay that mine, so I works you a lot more. I can plow here until about July, then the dirt turns more into concrete, than plowable stuff. Couple yrs ago I drove down to KY(500mls) and plow against some riders, with my Mighty Man walker. We don't have any plow matches here, its mostly guys with bigger yard tractors, that just plow whole fields. Not sure they would do very good if they had to plow with a set of rules. Oh and im sorry I spelled it wrong, as I know it should be "plough".
  22. As a tradition here, on the 1st day of spring, I usually try to plow. I fired up one of my DB tractors and went out and did 5 round. I think it went pretty well. Didn't have time to do more today, but theres always the weekend, and I have several other walkers to test plow with. Enjoy the pic's.
  23. looks like you boys had a great time and had a fine line up of machines presented.
