Thought I'd share this hoe with you men over there. I just restore this last week and Saturday will be its first showing to the public. This hoe was built in the 1890-1910 time frame and sold thru John Deere jobbers. It has a set of spring loaded handles that let you squeeze them together to get closer to the crop, or if released open back out.  Enjoy!

Here's some shots of my oldest and newest gems. The first is a roteho gem number g367. I'm still looking for a gearbox for this one( needs to come off a machine with the number g500 or lower).-if ny one can help?
The second is a dowdeswell 650, this also needed a new gearbox, which I've now managed to turn up a correct period one. G367 is from 1942 and the 650 from 1988, even tough they are 46 years apart you can see bar the engine how little the design changed over the years.

Started off as a broken 4 wheel drive toy truck.  The chassis was cut in half, the axle units forming the basis of each tractor.   The wheels from the truck were used on the trailer.  The tractor wheels were from another broken toy. Well, it was broken after I had butchered it.

Radio controlled. Total length 30". Mainly made from plastic sheet, bits of brass and numerous odds and ends.  The pivot moves in two directions, allowing articulation. Each tractor has it's own small electric motor, the radio gear and battery's are in the trailer.  Not as powerful as I had hoped, but will climb over small lumpy bits.  A pig to drive in reverse though, as the trailer decides it want's to do it's own thing.

The name ALJO, is a combination of mine Alan, and my mate's John.  GAR- DOE is meant to be a garden tractor size doe..  And in case anyone is wondering the 6V means 6 Volt. which is the drive power.  Just needs a suitable sized driver.

I read that somewhere before. Ride ons, after quad bikes and small machinery, are often targeted by thieves to sell on. One of my customers a few years back had thier ride on stolen and they claimed it off the house insurance but didn't get a market value for it.

we don't the same insurance thing over here. We have to have a blanket policy at most shows now that just you and the display as a whole, not the single tractors or any lists of them. Hard to get the insurance here as they want to attach it to your homeowners policy and that only cover certain thing at certain phases of the moon, apparently.  I do a lot of show that are 250 or 500mls from home, father than the home policy will get you . Lots of shows now require you buy a membership with them to be covered under their insurance. I think its running around $15 a show for the weekend. Some times this don't set well with guys, because they send a lot to get there, have a motel, eat and buy stuff at the show. We think the show should cover us, due to the fact that we do draw in the crowd.
