CNew got a reaction from factory in O&R Powered Comet C-SAW - Recoil Problems
Chris,
I was watching that manual as well but decided I had to pass on it and that was way before it jumped in price. It would have been a really neat book to have. David’s willingness to post various tool documents and part diagrams has been amazing!

CNew reacted to neons in Aquabug surprise!
I also have an OK Herkimer 60 ignition. I have a lot of motors from the early 50's into the 60's. Maybe 150 of them. I would thin them out except it is the same situation of selling and shipping which is a pain as you have seen me say here. I always liked the O&R utility motor. If there was an adaptive electronic ignition adapted to it I think it would have been an interesting motor for today's old timer style RC model aircraft. It would be lighter without the flywheel. It would be also quite a conversation piece.

CNew got a reaction from factory in Ohlsson & Rice: Orline Hedge Trimmer
Finally started getting into my Orline Hedge Trimmer project. Was able to get it completely torn down and started the cleaning process this afternoon. I’ll be going through the engine too. You all weren’t kidding about watching out for little roller bearings! When I removed the blade rotary lobe mechanism each side was filled with bunches of tiny roller bearings. I was able to get all the old grease cleaned out and set the rollers back in the grooves. Pretty sure I didn’t lose any I failed to get some “before” pictures on this camera but I will try to add a few later, I think I got a couple on a different phone.

CNew reacted to Wallfish in Restored Petro Drill ---- Chug-A-Drill
Yup, they are a rare item plus one of the coolest O&R tools out there.
Got mine from Webhead, a friend and fellow collector who didn't beat me up too bad but it's still one of my expensive items. I am glad to have it!
Here are the pics of mine and what sold me immediately on it

CNew reacted to Darmic1 in ORLine Mustang chainsaw and Hedgetrimmer
I used a couple of pictures found online to send along with the carefully removed old decals for reproduction. Titch @ Machinery Decals has done it again! perfectly recreated decals to adorn both these machines....... Here they are wearing their new clothes! The Mustang's bar decal has proved a little more difficult, however it is being worked on!

ORline hedge trimmer.
This one has a throttle control which must have been an option, because these are also seen without it

CNew got a reaction from pmackellow in Getting ready for Newbury
Wow- what an incredible collection! What is the yellow cart with a bicycle wheel and a bucket used for, is that some sort of insecticide sprayer? Awesome- wish I could attend a show like this, I would stand there staring for hours.

CNew reacted to Wallfish in Ohlsson & Rice (O&R) engine powered tools
Here's another rare and strange O&R powered tool. Petro Products drill from the early 60s. Kind of reminds me of Flash Gordon.
My grandson saw it, got all excited and asked "Can I shoot it?". He thought it was a cool looking gun.

CNew reacted to Wallfish in Ohlsson & Rice (O&R) engine powered tools
Another hobby of mine is collecting these cool little O&R gas powered tools and engines. Most were manufactured here in the USA but there are plenty of others that were made in the UK and other countries.
Here's a Bridges Mini-Mota Drill that I had shipped in from the UK. You move the chuck to different spots on the gearbox to change the rpm. Not sure why anything would need to be drilled at 6300 rpm, but it's there if you want to.

CNew got a reaction from pmackellow in Ohlsson & Rice: Military Engine Display
Finally had a chance to mount one of my military engines to a tank from an old Dyna-Mite generator. Added a nice piece of quarter sawn oak for stability. Now I can fire it up without the engine running off. I don’t think I’ll keep it set up this way long term but it does make for a convenient way to test engines after rebuilding.

CNew reacted to H Killackey in Little Petro mini bike
My Little Petro motor TANAKA TAS P7 has been restored rebuilt. Does anyone know if the Clutch is a WET Clutch OR a DRT Clutch? That clutch is inside a compartment that has gears. The cover that contains the clutch and gears has to large screws for oil fill and drain at the bottom ...
So if that compartment is filled will oil ..... Its a Wet clutch .... It will grab ?
Engine above restored .... WET or DRY clutch ? ..... I have not put oil in the GEAR & CLUTCH compartment ........ yet ?This is the same engine as 2 or 3 photos above

CNew got a reaction from factory in Ohlsson & Rice Strikemaster Icemaster Auger
Finally got the coil wiring fixed, the kill switch installed and the recoil back together on the TAS P-7. Attempted to start it and it sputtered quite nicely and looks like it wants to run. It will need some carb adjustment and maybe a new diaphragm but overall it cleaned up nicely and should be a fun addition.

Not an Ohlsson but thought I’d show some pics of an old Tanaka TAS P-7 ice auger that I just picked up today. This thing is going to need some work!

CNew got a reaction from factory in Ohlsson & Rice: The Groomer Landscaper 600 Carburetor?
Yes, I believe you’re correct. The flange looks to be part of the casting. When I was first taking this apart I was expecting the flange to be an adaptor plate that was fastened to the induction housing mating surface but was quickly surprised only to find that it is all one piece.

CNew got a reaction from factory in Ohlsson & Rice Type 115
The engine arrived this afternoon, earlier than expected. After a quick look over I’m starting Tom thing this engine has been used very little, if at all. It looks to be all there. The governed system is interesting. Wish I had a gas tank for it... here are some photos, enjoy.
