  1. I second that, I've got a slightly earlier version with a chain start JAP and on the couple of ocaisions that I've attempted to use it I've ended up abandoning ship and running beside it!

What width cut is yours , it looks wider than mine which, I think, is sixteen inch but it's buried at the back of the shed at the moment.

You refer to it as British Anzani; I may be wrong but I believe that the "tubular version" was originally made by a company called Ranger in West Sussex who later sold the design to British Anzani who redesigned it with the more often seen streamlined pressed steel backbone.

    Edit

Just found this which explains all -

It is a 24 inch cut, yes mine was made by Anzani.

I've not seen one of those before, very nice.. Is the roller split into 3? I've never seen that on anything before!

Yes the roller is split into 3, don't know why though

  2. Hi, I am looking for a Victa 2 stroke engine decompressor, I have a mower with the unit missing and a spark plug has been put in its place but this makes starting difficult. Has anyone got a spare they would be willing to part with please. PM me or answer the post, thank you.

  3. I picked these 2 old grease guns up from the local rag and bone man today,( I always check what he's got on board when I see him). One is a Tecalemit and the other even though it is virtually the same except pressed steel handle instead of cast and a few other cheaper fittings is marked INTERLUBE. I don't know the year of these be could be 60's.

  4. That would be the throttle cable; are you saying that it is operating a mechanical choke when past the full throttle position?

Please post an image with the air filter removed and perhaps the Model, type and code of the engine.

Yes past full throttle position. Pictures with choke off, on and numbers.

  5. Hi folks, been away for a while, work's been mad. Anyway if this is the wrong place to post this I apologise but have any of you heard about the EU's plan to force gardeners to pay insurance on their ride on mowers?

"Patrick McLoughlin, the Transport Secretary, has been told that all owners of ride-on mowers may be forced to pay for the cover, even if the vehicle never leaves their garden."

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/11008809/Gardeners-with-sit-on-lawnmowers-face-buying-motor-insurance.html

I have several questions about this story:

    1) Does this effect professional gardeners, or everybody?

    2) The story says it will be £100, is this per mower? What about those of us who collect them?

    3) Will the premium be more or less depending on the year and model of mower?

    4) How do you go about proving this, eg on my Gazelle that has a new engine fitted and therefore no date?

    5) This whole idea is so stupid am I living in reality of some sort of nightmare where humanity has gone insane?

Anyway, hope to get some pics up of my Westwood Gazelle and Wheelhorse out and about soon!

I think your all taking this comment the wrong way, WestwoodGazelle is talking about compulsive insurance for home use on your own private grounds being made compulsory, even if you never show.
