  1. Thanks Sten, ive been looking for a while, which one did you get ? I wanted one with manual controls and a stainless baskit but didn't know what size to get for the average garden tractor carb also did you use the carb cleaning fluid available from the bay ?

I got it from ebay, it is made in China but I thought its worth ago. It has digital controls, a stainless basket, it is a 10 litre capacity, you wont need one that big, the tank size is 300x240x150mm, a 6.5 litre tank size is 300x150x150, would probably do for you. I haven't tried the cleaning fluid.

  2. Ive just bought one, delivered today. First impressions are quite good cleaning a couple of carbs but it didnt shift the thicker grime tucked away in crevises but scrape the thick off and ok, also the heat softens the paint so that comes away easier, ok if you want the paint off.

  3. Looks bigger than 4hp but I could be wrong...

I dont think mine has had an engine change but it could have. I did find some other makes the same as these on a US website, not sure but I think the Landmaster is a re badged MTD.

  4. Should be a model 1-0300 then. Not an issue with having the 2 extra fixings for bolting the engine in, had to be done as the old engine is obsolete.

Your Tractor was the last of the 'Short Frames' and was actually a Transition model.

The Bonnet/Hood is the new (at the time) 'Long Hood', but the old short frame had extensions added to carry the New Hood hinges.

The original Techy was mounted using an Adaptor Plate to get the right Shaft height and so the frame had very few holes predrilled for various engine types.

If your not already aware, Charlie Smith has an 'Intact' example of your Tractor. here's a link to his post that has some pics if it helps at all-

Thanks again for the info, here are the numbers, model 1-0310, serial no. 126193

  5. No problem. I would guess late 1800's to early 1900's really cool. Does it work

Thanks for the dating, yes it works, takes up to 4 inch. The only problem the picture frame theory is the wheels that push the joint together are knurled so they could mark the wood.

  6. I'm guessing it is for picture frames. Pretty cleverly designed. The clamping jaws look like they would push both frame pieces towards the corner as it clamps. How much do you want for it?

Yes I guess its for picture frames or similar, sorry not thinking of selling it.

  7. There were differences even within the Raider 10 range, i.e. 3 or 6 speed.

The Lausen Techy Engine spec also differed with Tranny type.

Raiders were marketed in U.S. from late 68- 72. They stopped using Tecumseh in 1971, so your Tractor will possibly have lights fitted as standard?. In 1972 they were an Option.

Magnum Engines were not used in WH until 86 after Toro got their hands on them and ceased using so many Briggs n Strattons.

So if your 10hp decals have not fallen off, you can call it a *Re-powered Raider 10 (*a term applied in the U.S).

Put another set of decals on and it's your discretion :) .

Thanks for the info, Its a 71 6 speed made in Belgium, it has lights but sadly no bonnet decals. The Magnum engine must have a wider base as 2 bolts have been welded to the outside of the chassis rails to bolt the engine down.

  8. My Raider 10 has had its Tecumseh 10hp engine replaced with a Kohler Magnum 12 at sometime in its life, question, is it still a Raider 10 or is it a Raider 12 now? Is there any other differences besides the engine between the 10 and 12?
