    Bolens 850

Here's my 1254 with some Agri Tyres. The rear tyres will be put on my original wheels and 8 have also ordered some tri ribs for the front. The front decal shown the Bolens Husky Dog. Also got a dyno start on it as well....... Thanks Ian; that's what I am hoping to do. The seller also suggested that as well.Cheers

    Bolens 850

The blue on the 850 will compliment my Ford 100! It's a strange area that neck of the wood Chris. Back in the late '90s I worked and lived very near to the seller of the tractor at a National Trust property called West Green House and Gardens. Apparently, when the area was being updated by Ordnance Survey, the little triangle of Phoenix Green, just outside Hartley Witney was missing from the map. It was known locally as the Hampshire Triangle on a par to the Bermuda Triangle. I am just so pleased that my latest Bolens was retrieved successfully and that it is not disappeared like so many others ........ I am sorry if I didn't mention it Chris! I hear that Iain collected your 850 yesterday as well.

    Bolens 850

I bought another Bolens, this time a 850 with a deck from Hampshire. Date yet to be verified but it from the mid to late 60s. I was particularly attracted to the go faster blue stripe on the bonnet. Also it's nice to have a different front decal of the Husky Man and not the Husky Dog on the front. The engine require some pistons and hopefully it will be up and running again. Thanks to Chris for collecting it and storing it.
  4. That's a nice find Chris. I got this potato ridger when I collected the Ford 100 a while back. I think it's off a Merry Tiller.

I remember this as I thought, in my excitement, that it was up in County Durham, England! but no it was County Down! Anyway, Chris went for it as he got the skills to rejuvenate the old girl. How far is it from your neck of the word!

There was a great looking G11 on Guntree in Ballynahinch that I wanted to get but the seller didn't want the hassle of strapping her into a pallet........

That's interesting. Are there many Bolens in your part of the world? The earlier ones over here come up now and again.

Just out of interest do the Bolens over in N. Ireland have Howard's Bolens on the decals? Over in England (and presumably Wales & Scotland) most Bolens have the Howard decals. Howard's were the UK importers of Bolens.

Great collection of Bolens Gary. I like the 853 and the HT20. I got a Ride a Matic, 600, 800, 1254 and a Lawn Keeper. I also got a Ford 100 and Huffy Broad Lawn too. Can never have too many I think! Cheers Andrew

  23. I bought a Montgomery Ward Squire 10 earlier this year but sold it due to logistical complications. A pity as it was all original and running. Alain is a source of great info on these tractors. Here's a photo of the one that got away..... Look forward to more updates on your discovery. Edit: if you look in the post 'Now for something different' it's all about the MW.
