  1. Love the that style of advertising. Great find.
  2. Thanks lads. Where's the best place to get genuine air filter elements for the above Hayter. I know where I can source modern filters, blades etc but I have drawn a blank on the old style filter. Thanks. Andrew
  3. As I was working at home doing some odd jobs, I decided to have a look at this Hayter just a few minutes away from me. The old chap had it for years and until recently he had it at his property in Brittany. His father owned it prior to him. Also came with the original instructions manual. My plan was to use the engine on my Bolens Lawn Keeper but have decided against it as it seem a shame to dismantle it. It's currently has no sparks so I am hoping a clean of the points and armature will sort that out. My plan is to give it a thorough clean, service and treat with Owatrol. I got a small job in mind later this year to mow at a customer's. Anyone know where I can get an exhaust or silencer? Photos of the Hayter as found. I will take some more once it's serviced and cleaned up.
  4. As Nigel say get some photos up of the Hayter. What model is your Francis Barnett?
  5. I like the cylinder mower attachment. That's a great find! Enjoy!
  6. That old cliche 'they don't make it like that anymore' is very apt here. That's very solid. What was it used for do you know?
  7. That's a tidy job Chris. I got to re felt a customer's shed next week and make a door as well.
  8. Here's the latest update on my 1254 with its new boots. Thanks to my mate, Daniel Robins, for organising the work in her. I got to say that one mean looking machine!
  9. That looks in good nick. Will you be using it for work or play?
  10. Joe, I have always wanted a vintage farm tractor like the classic grey Fergie as I drive one back in the early 80s on a farm in Sussex. Bring back a lot of memories. If I ever get a house with some land to play with I will get one along with my Bolens yo have a good play. Is the one you got? It's a little unusual compared to the more usually seen Grey Fergies.
  11. That's good to know that it is still being used properly on an estate. I am interested to hear about the long grass that you cut. How tall is the grass you are cutting? I ask as I run a gardening business down in Devon and I too have worked in a few National Trust estates and gardens. Cheers Andrew
  12. That's a Kohler engine in the QT? They are good looking machines and the implements are belt driven as opposed to shaft driven I think?
  13. That's great news that you have recover your WH!

  20. I am looking out for a working stator and modules for my Bolens1254 which is powered by the Wisconsin TRA12D engine. The stator is connected by a single wire. I have listed a photo of the stator for ease of identification. If anyone can help that would be great. Please PM me or leave a response via the post. Thanks Andrew. .
  21. Very tidy Chris and so organised too.
