In the vertical position, the debris that is cut off lands on the steering wheel and you need to resist the temptation to brush it off with your right hand.
If you ever find the cure I am sure my wife would like to know. I think I have passed on the illness to my 7 year old lad. He spent most of Sunday afternoon driving some of mine around.

My wife also want to know the cure too!
On a serious note, I must rein in my expenditure for the time being until next year unless something stunning pops up. Also I now need to sort out the storage so I can move around unhindered.
Iain, I have been diagnosed with a unusual but harmless bug known as the Bolens Bug. The only known cure to allow ate any distress is to procure tractors and attachments pertaining to the Bolens Clan.
Just delivered this afternoon my latest attachment for one of my Bolens. It's a rear mounted attachment originally made by Horwool MFG Ltd in Essex for Bolens. It also came with a prop shaft as well. I am going to give it a good pressure wash this weekend and grease it up. It came from North Wales.
In my opinion, Bolens are great little tractors. The Bolens G8 denotes that it's a 8HP engine with gears. I think the engine should originally be a Tecumesh engine. Incidentally, the H denotes a hydrostatic. The G8 essentially replaced the Bolens 813 in 1973.
There are other more knowledgeable members who can provide more information than I but it certainly a good little tractor and, unlike the Wheel Horse, parts are getting harder to source but they are still out there.
Very nice Andrew Looks like it was worth the wait. Bet your wife is happy you got a shinney one this time
I am really chuffed with it and yes my wife is a lit happier that it's a shiny one rather than that 'pile of rust'. Just got back from Dorset but hope to work on it next weekend. Catch you later,
I collected the Bolens this afternoon. Here's a photo, albeit a poor one, of the tractor on the back of my pickup. I will take some photos when I unload it in the next few days.
Yes I am really pleased with it. I moved it into my garage this morning ( it weighs a tonne!). I read the instructions manual last night for bedtime reading! It going to be interesting to get it hitch up. It's going to go on the 1254 I got earlier this year but I need to get that going again with some help from a mate of mine ((Robins). It's a beast of a machine and already I have a healthy respect for it when I read that the blades can take your fingers off even when it's not on as the movement will jolt it....
Here are several shots of the sickle mower that arrived this afternoon. It wa very well secured and well packaged. I took them in the dark so will get better ones in due course. It one of those things you have to buy quickly as these don't come up that often and I am pleased I didn't have to go through the uncertainty of eBay. Tomorrow I am collecting the 800 at long last.

There have been a few Bolens G10s on the Bay recently if you are interested in them.
