  1. I will get my brother to have a visit as he lives just outside Sedlescombe as he is into the country life.
  2. It's being delivered late this evening. Will post photos of its arrival tomorrow evening. Not sure what the missus will say as I said I bought a ride on...........
  3. Thanks. Mine is being delivered tonight and if I set off tomorrow morning, I might just get to the show from Devon.........
  4. Looking forward to my holiday next week and visiting the show on the Saturday or the Sunday too. Kev. Do you know if there will be any Bolens tractors there or owners there?
  5. It look like a good green alternative and cost effective too.
  6. Neil, I can take one off your hands if that helps......
  7. As a professional gardener via the National Trust and now running my own gardening business, it come as no surprise that ride ons will have to be insured specifically for a number of reasons. In the wrong/ inexperienced hands they can be lethal and of course they are very desirable on the black market after pedestrian mowers, chainsaws, strimmers etc. I myself have public liability for my business but check that you're sufficiently covered to yes machinery etc as part of your work. I think if you are running a Kubota or Iseki garden tractor/ ride on costing £7/10 k then it's a small price to pay. As pointed out elsewhere, the classic/ collect able garden tractors can be insured very reasonable on a par to classic cars etc. I have seen knackered ride ons still be used by people with little experience and regards to themselves and others. I heard of an owner recently who rolled over his ride on on a slope he was attempting to cut to save time. If we could rely on everyone to be sensible with servicing/ maintaining their ride ons etc, then we wouldn't need this potential legislation.
  8. Anglo Tracton aka Richard, do you run a courier service? If so I could be interested in your services. thanks
  9. Some really great photos there, I especially liked the Barn Owl photo and the moon.
  10. I too have used Hermes as well. I advertise if I need a collection via Shipley in the past. indeed, I am using a courier via Shipley to collect my Bolens tractor. If it survives intact, I will let you know who he is!
  11. A good show by the look of it. What's the make of the little blue garden tractor?
  12. Don't worry my Morris is safe and sound. Have you seen the oldest Morris Minor van on EBay? It's a total restoration case but it's supposedly the oldest in Europe...... Though some have cast doubts on it authencity but I have always fancied a split screen LCV from the 50s. That Wheel Horse is tempting...... Once the Bolens is safely in my possession next week, I can then cast my eyes around for more............. I have ordered the book and await it arrival.
  13. I saw that in one of the forum's topics but can't find one available at the moment. This is highly addictive these garden tractors.......
  14. I seen that on EBay and wondered what others thought of it. Thanks.
  15. Is there a book or books on Garden Tractors that covers Wheel Horses, Simplicity, Bolens, Cub Cadets etc... That anyone can recommend as I want to delve into the history of these classic and iconic machines. Thanks
  16. Looking forward to getting it home. Be an interesting project for me. Will post some photos of its arrival.
  17. And I thought the EU was complicated! Seriously, very useful to knoe
  18. I am afraid I don't know. This is a new venture into collectible American lawn tractors for me. I am sure someone else can provide the answer though.
  19. Well, I have taken the plunge and bought a Bolens Husky 1254. I hope to collect it w/c 4 August..... Nigel, you don't still have that engine do you? I could be interested.
  20. It could be a Bucher? I am guessing it's a flail attachment?
