  1. Another three gone today, two MG6 and the Jarrett MG5, Had a disaster with TVo MG6 spent the whole day yesterday serciceing and getting it started, ran for a couple of minutes and then big bang crankshaft snapped through one of the webs, conrod through the block piston smashed serious mess, fortunately I have enough spares to build up a replacement but never the less they are not leaving without a fight. Now down to 137, Digger, ITW Barge and two sand skimmers.

  2. Sounds as if you may have a blockage at the fuel tank outlet, sometimes there is a fine gauze mesh filter which gets blocked. Unscrew the fuel tap from the tank and you should see it, if not try blowing low pressure air from a foot pump up the fuel line back in to the tank.

  3. Although spare axle was not a Peerless, the only difference in the brake assembly was the mounting bolts were M8 on the new one and M6 on the old so I drilled the crankcase and re tapped to the larger size. Many thanks Norman.

  4. Does anyone have the small disc brake caliper assembly off a Peerless transaxle as fitted to Husqvarna  Ride on mowers, mine has failed and new parts not available mower tends to run away on the steep drive which is not good for the blood pressure.

  5. Part of the fun of collecting the crawlers was meeting new people with shared enthusiasm for these machines. Strangely, going through all my glory holes and pulling out all the machines and spares I have and then dealing with new enthusiasts looking for  parts has been equal fun it is good to know that as a result of my bits many other machines will be up and running. It has also been really pleasing to see that many of the enthusiasts are youngsters late teens and early twenties as well as the older group. I still have piles of stuff to go through so if anyone is needing a particular part I am happy to have a look and see if I have one.

  6. Does anyone know of a museum or collector that would like to buy my collection of MG Crawlers and derivatives, 18 machines in total all bar 1 are in running order some fully restored and some as original. Included are two ITW wheeled machines, a complete sand skimmer with a lifetime of brand new old stock spares, A Whitlock WR8 loader and a Ransomes MG6 dumper. I have tried the Ipswich museum but they have no space or money. If I can sell as a collection I am open to a reasonable offer .Happy for anyone to view. As far as I know this is the only collection of each model and variant from 1936 to 1965.
