  1. Jonathan, Neil possibly has one, the guy with the maroon dumper snapped his crankshaft and got another one from Neil.
  2. Probably took me about 100 hrs just to restore the tub, the worst thing was sandblasting them though!
  3. Slow progress, but it's winter! Engine and wheels painted
  4. It's looking good, can't wait to have a go.
  5. Jonthan asked me to post some pictures of his progress,so here they are..
  6. What's happening with the ransomes dumper, lost interest?
  7. Your welcome Jonathan, it was good fun.
  8. Who are the two guys with the ransomes? One is Tom Tweedie? Who's the other with the MG5? Interested to find out about other m&s in Scotland.
  9. It's came a long way Jonathan,
  10. Collected both them for Jonathan, they big have the ST 600cc engine which are mounted to the mg2 crawlers, considered buying one as a cheap source of spares for my Mg2 now we're I pass and it was offered to Jonathan the next day. Looks like you've been doing some tidying Jonathan, shed seems empty.
  11. Plough lifts using a pulley off the PTO, the pulley has a brake band around it to control the plough dropping. it's always been green, I've scraped some of the oil off in places and theres quite a vibrant green underneath. The ransomes decal on the engine has green under it aswell. The mystery driver is Alex, the guy I baught it off in France, it is the picture he sent me. There is a mysterious linkage attached to the PTO lever but isn't attached to anything, the other lever is for releasing the brake band.
  12. Was indeed a nice find, present to myself for my 20th birthday in a few weeks. Managed to get it started, and drive it round to my house, the neighbours were chuffed!
  13. Probably going to give it a wash and leave it as is, as far as I can see it's always been green, but not sure how original the paint is.
  14. Well my new toy arrived this morning having travelled nearly 1000miles from France it has the rare Sachs 600L engine with electric start.
  15. Rebuilt the fuel pump this morning after a trip to get the missing peice. Nearly finished rebuilding the engine ready for a test, then it will be painted. Skimmed the brake drums today as well, still pitted but will work fine, a lot better than they were any way! Why are the pictures loading the wrong way round?
  16. Bit of engine rebuilding.... Crank reground, valves blasted refaced and seats re cut. New seals, big end shells ect.
  17. My MG5 is just copper pipe ran underneath and fixed in a few places by bent over metal tags, one being one of the final drive case bolts, and engine mounts, I believe this is original, I never replace the pipe, it came with it. Think it's 1/4" bore but may be wrong. Will be doing my MG6 the same. See
  18. Strange, the pipe must have been routed underneath the gearbox then.
  19. Yes after you go through the front of it as well, easier just to run straight underneath then up to the carb.
  20. never heard of foam, if it does the same thing i can't see it being a problem.
  21. yes, you just pack it in, its just heat resistant fabric and absorbs the noise as the gasses go through.
  22. The original the better, I would say. It's up to personal taste, but when I restore my machines I try to make them as original as possible.
  23. Used to muffle exhausts http://www.dirtbikebitz.com/silent-sport-exhaust-packing-rfx-packed-p-9628.html
