    Bolens G14

I would bore it out on the mill and press fit a sleeve.
  3. What makes it an ITC, does it have a foot clutch? Can understand why someone would do it?
  4. Make sure you've got my name somewhere Jonathan, don't want you taking all the credit now 😀😀😀, most of it was you anyway. It's really looking good and finally completely finished, I take it you didn't use the aluminium blocks for the tracks?
  5. Thank you all, I am very pleased how it has turned out. I'm just glad I could her it up and running again as usually when these things get taken apart they never go back together again as the previous owners looses heart and gives up, a real shame I think. My MG5 was the same in pieces with the odd bit painted.
  6. Immediately bored after getting the crawler running, I decided to make a Towing frame so it has somthing to lift.
  7. Well, look what crawled out of the shed this afternoon, (pardon the pun) even if it was after a weeks worth of magneto problems! Still got the toolbox and bumper to sandblast and paint, then add some lights and it's done!
  8. Got the exhaust painted and fitted after modifying it, also the heat shield and petrol starting tank (this tractor is TVO) also got the fuel lines plumbed in with copper pipe. I have also fitted the brass plates I had made, not sure if I should fit the old Serial no plate and keep the new one for my next project or to stamp and fit the new one? Also started to paint the tracks, another job I hate but it's better than rebuilding with new rubbers, plates and bolts as well as painting them! I am also a track pad short😳😳 but Jonathan's sorted me out with a nice worn one to blend in😃 So I'm getting there, not long now until it's first run In a long time I imagine!
  9. Been putting off painting the coach lines for a while, but it came to the point I couldn't go any further without doing them so, I did! Got the engine on and the oil guage piped in as well as the rest of the 3 point hitch and hydraulic ram.
  10. No, it wasn't me. I did buy my Mg2 from outside Carlisle.
  11. I need to do the clutch on it, i don't think it would pull the 3 furrow plough that came with it just now as its slipping.
  12. Dont know about that, they have been sitting for 20 years. I was considering buying them but i already have a MG2 and MG5, they have good tracks, i might at some point they're not going anywhere.
  13. The crawlers weren't much better!!
  14. I'm stopping at 5 for a few years....... This mg6 is destined for somthing special, between us we will have some of the most desirable versions ever made.
  15. Hydraulics fitted with back plate, also get the seat on. I've fitted a 3 way valve just incase I need to tap off the hydraulic feed for a dozer blade or similar...... Also purchased another Mg6!! That's 5 I've got now.
  16. Like it, I've always wanted one but I think I'll stick with the ransomes, the tracks were designed by the same company of ransomes crawlers and I have pictures of a hand written letter talking about the history of the ransomes tracks and how they were not in competition with the bristol crawlers,
  17. Made the spacers from 316 stainless as that's I had available. Fitted them up tonight.
  18. Bit more progress today, paint seems to have dried well but really needs time to harden before painting the coach lines on. Also got new brass Serial no plates and gear plates, they were expensive but really look good! I want to put the tracks in the wide position so I'll need to turn up 3" 3/4" UNF theaded spacers.
  19. Can't wait to start bolting things on, couldn't resist putting the polished brass oil pressure guage in, not original but piece of mind knowing there's pressure and the big ends fine.
  20. Got some paint on the main body this afternoon.
  21. My main worry is that the Dynamo spins too fast, time will tell.
  22. Engine and Dynamo fitted, will hing under the toolbox nicely.
  23. Dynamo is actually a 12v 100W motor from an electric scooter. Spun it up on the milling machine at a few thousand revs with a regulator and it seemed to work, I don't think I'm fitting a battery though so lights will only work when engines running. Shed's on the patio, temporarily till it's done then it's going behind the other shed that's what I've told mum anyway.....
  24. Whilst I was away looking at a couple of ransomes cralwers, I seen this, guessing it's a Howard but don't know what model, is it worth anything?
