factory reacted to krackermeal55 in Little Petro mini bike
Here is MY bike with the NOS P5 and early SQUARE Tas mount. I was planning to restore the blue frame and put the P5 into it. Then I'd have TWO left on Earth lol
Oh, and BTW H Killackey, contact me about making coil covers. I have two, I believe.

No, that is my OG Petro, since I've had since new. I bought this one off Ebay to get a motor/trans.
This is kinda how mine sits now. Have a P7 with all the parts I'd need, except gaskets. Have two trans, which be hard to let go of, because I doubt I'd find another. Just bought a seat from H Killackey. And, have the foot rests, and chainguard mould I was lucky enough to score from S Grier. Just need to put it together.

I must be a lucky guy, cause I've still got mine!!! And, just recently discovered it's history, and Rarity!! Resto has already started.

factory got a reaction from CNew in O&R Tiny Tiger Parts
That looks like a good donor engine , I used a bare engine block of similar age for my TT repair*, that ensured the parts would fit together with the remaining original parts.
*My failed TT engine was SN #035753 (Type 111), it was bought as a pile of bits, it was missing the crankshaft, piston, con-rod and con-rod bearing. The donor engine block was #012461 (Type 98) which had been used for a RC application by a previous owner, hence lots of missing parts.
Before & donor engine.
Some pictures from the restoration, it's also the only TT I have with the generator end housing finished in chrome.
One of the missing parts was the long truss head screw for holding the generator rotor in place, a new one was machined from scratch, OK I deliberately made it a little bigger in places.

factory got a reaction from pmackellow in Aquabug surprise!
Yes that's the one Paul, the other is still awaiting restoration, thanks for the reminder about the decals.
Speaking of decals here are a couple of pictures I took of the Aquabug decals to help Paul, they should be useful if other people need to have some made too.

factory reacted to HeadExam in Good luck and Goodbye
I wish everyone here good luck and hate to leave the site, but for one reason or another I am not able to login anymore without emailing for another new password. This has happened nearly a dozen times after clearing all browsing data and cookies and it continues to happen. It could be on my side or on the server side, I don't know. I just don't have the time or patience to recover my password every time I want to visit the site. Good luck to all.

factory reacted to CNew in Aquabug surprise!
Finally getting a chance to open up my Aquabug. Recall when I bought it the recoil was spring from being yanked too hard. I think it just needs a good cleaning and re-assembly. Now that I have the cover off I’m starting to think this engine may not have been used much, if at all. It certainly doesn’t look as though it’s ever been worked on. It needs some cleaning but it looks to be in really great shape. The gas tank doesn’t have any odor whatsoever and is about as clean as it could be, makes me wonder if it’s ever even been gassed up. I should probably Pull the flywheel to clean and adjust the points while I’m at it but I kind of hate to do anything to it but clean it up. It even still has the oil sticker on the prop housing. I would suspect that would have been long gone if it had been used much.

factory got a reaction from JUST O&R in O&R Model F with gearbox 900 R.P.M.
There is the option to make new tanks too, if you can find the similar size food cans*, a screw top from readily available tins could be cut out and soldered in.
The original O&R tanks are probably made in the same way as early (steel) beer cans were made in the US, I've seen a few in some of the abandoned mine exploration videos I watch on youtube and they looked similar in size & construction.
*I've saved a couple of coffee cans for experimentation.

Oooo, the term "very interested" means expensive for you. Wooo Hooo.
You being the only resource back in the day is what got all of this started. Highly doubt I would've ever went past those first 2 engines if we never connected. I didn't know squat back then so your help and knowledge with the stuff was crucial in my collecting of O&R. Glad we started this because there really isn't any other place for people to go that I know of. Then people like David get involved and the knowledge base has grown to new heights because of his involvement and willingness share information. In a couple of years CNew will be coaching and suppling parts too at the pace he's going.

Well, the engine arrived this afternoon. It’s incredibly disappointing to receive what looks to be a brand new engine only for it to get damaged during shipment. The new tank was crushed, man that’s irritating!

factory got a reaction from pmackellow in O&R with Unknown Make Generator
There are a couple of generators from smaller companies that haven't turned up yet, the Krestronics Charge-R-Lite and the Nobco Power Beam, but this is neither of those, it could have had a band with the name & ratings like the TT generators.

factory got a reaction from pmackellow in O&R with Unknown Make Generator
Just had a quick look at completed listings on ePay.com and found this strange looking O&R generator.
The labelling for the generator output looks a bit homemade, as well as having the switch to select between 115V & 12V (instead of having a separate low voltage connector), the generator housing looks nicely made.

factory reacted to Wallfish in Orline Cutoff saw
Well, it only takes about 9 or 10 months to do something which used to get done in a day or two. Finally got around to and made some time to assemble this cutoff saw. It's not 100% done as I need to make a grommet for the carb intake to match up with the hole for the air cleaner and I'll install a new carb while I'm at it. Still need to order a new blade too and do some clean up on it.
Used to be able to go through these quickly but didn't look for the specialty tools I made for easier access to the tough to reach bolts an such. Luckily the recoil went fast and got that the first try.
