    New Tractor

I already have a 416H Hydro and 416S shuttle shift, both with electric lifts and clutches. The shuttle shift is basically a four speed hydro. I have a snow blower, tiller snow plow, cultivators, harrow, and mid mount grader blade, as well as three decks, so this and the extra standard block and bevel gear box will come in handy

    New Tractor

Okay, its not a Gilson. It is a Allis, a real Allis Chambers made by Allis Chambers. Its a 1974 416 Hydro, Hmm I have some these already, but what the hay. It came with an extra block and bevel gear box, and all the original manuals and paper work from 1974. Allis ordered a certain number of the new K341 engines from kohler in late 1973 to put in the 400 series tractor, but a problem arose when Allis found out that a monopoly lawsuit against them was being overturned and they would be allowed to have Simplicity build their Outdoor Power equipment again. The problem was they had decided to make a 410, 414, and 416, but with the suit settled they would not need the 16hp Allis 400 spec'd engines. The 10hp K301 and 14hp weren't a problem in not accepting for delivery, Kohler could move these engines to another brand, but the new 16hp K341 was a new model engine and Allis had made a commitment to buy a certain number of these and could not retract. Allis decided to put more 16hp engines in what would have been 14hp 414 Hydros. That is why you only see Allis 414 shuttle shifts, not hydros the hydros were changed to 16hp and 416 model to use up the engines due to the plant closing and the 400 series model ending the same year it started.

    New Tractor

I got a new tractor today. Its an Allis Chalmers, but it wasn't built by Simplicity. It features a engine that debuted the year of its inception. Anyone want to make a guess as to what it is?
  4. Just in case the swatches of pink aren't large enough, I thought I would present a life size model for you Andrew, he he. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/grd/5270389050.html
  5. Steer horns included http://kansascity.craigslist.org/grd/5276432823.html
  6. With our close proximity to drug cartels and their abundance of recreational product, some have overused and abused to the point that it effects judgement. This epidemic has unfortunately spread to ePay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bolens-Husky-Tractor-model-1225-hydro-vintage-/181824656155?hash=item2a5598131b:g:jYUAAOSwd0BVwj-2
  7. What do you mean JUNK, have you gone mad? There is no such thing. At least not that any of should admit too, If word gets around that some stuff may be junk, we could all be in deep trouble.
  8. I think the IH red is a closer match to the Wheel Horse colour. Nice Job
  9. A treasure trove of old cars has been found in a Barn in Denmark and auction is upcoming in a few weeks

    My new plough

Good advice. It also allows time to wear the rust/paint off the plow face to produce a cleaner and easier cut.
  11. Oh, now I know for sure what these two emoticons mean. I'm yanking your chain and hiding under the chair to keep from being beat. We need a emoticon of a kid poking a bulldog through a fence. Nigel, your work looks great, as does the tractor, neither will reflect on your manhood, he he, where's my chair.

    My new plough

Way to beat the bushes Tom. Contrary to what many people think these ploughs were not meant to be able to turn sodded soil that has been a yard or lawn without scrapping off the grass, but rather to plough a patch that has been prepped to plough. You could plough heavily sodded soil with this plow, but you would need a fairly large or heavy tractor such as a Gutbrod 1032 or bigger. All that said, it would be advantageous (and fun) to find a small patch to practice plowing techniques and plough settings. Again, great find.
  13. Happy Birthday Ewan, hope you had some fun
  14. Its a full time job having a place in the country, especially if you have animals, or land, but just building maintenance can take a lot of time, but its worth it in my opinion.
  15. I was going to part this out, but it is going to be repowered with a kohler single when I find an engine, in the meantime I will be using this as a builder tractor, my good 16hp Kohler K341 from the other D160 will go on this machine along with a nice deck, the rear PTO will go on the AG tractor with the three point, and when I find another engine I'll have three D160's Oh Yeah!
  16. It wont come off, I've even used Ajax

    Another D160

It has the Onan engine, that makes it pretty much worthless, rebuild kits are over 3200.00, carb kits over 200.00. It will make my two collectible kohler single D160 complete The dash, rear axle, etc are going to be put to good use. D series in this shape can be found for 400-500 on a regular basis, the only rare ones are the 1973 18 automatic, which was inferior, the 1975 D160 kohler single and the 1975 D180 kohler twin

    Another D160

I picked up another Wheel Horse D160 today, it came with a smooth running 16hp Onan which I have sold for 400.00, A rear PTO shaft, front and rear wheel weights, and a 48 mower deck. I'll sell the wheel weights as well and keep the tractor and deck for parts for my Kohler powered D160's. I paid 400.00 for the tractor and 60.00 in fuel. I should come out a few hundred to the good which will go toward the purchase of a 3 point for my other D160
  19. The little Yorkie and my best fest friend Gus, the Rottweiler, have passed, but we still have Duchess the miniature Schnauzer (my dog now), and Refund, the Cairn Terrier. Duchess is 12 years and has failing eyesight, Refund is 2 years and has killed six large field rats this summer. Obviously you fellows and your families love and take care of your pooches as they take care of you. Our dogs mean so much to my wife and I, it hurts us terribly when we see how badly many around here treat their dogs.
  20. He lives close too the Canadian border and was infected by the French "Influencza", lol
  21. I think i got lost on this. I didn't know the A80R didn't have a deck, just no implements, I don't consider a deck on a mower an implement, I guess that's were I got lost. In the end he could ship the H16 and implements to Germany and it still be WAY overpriced for what it is. I've looked around and while old GT stuff seems high, good stuff can be had at good prices (for Europe) as long as your not shopping at the dealerships or shops. Its the same here when you go to Tractor House or Iron Finder, which are clearinghouses for dealerships across the nation. Mowers at these dealerships can easily run 3 times higher than from individual owner sales.
  22. The painting looks really good! I may consider eliminating the use of primer except to use as a filler. Most of these tractors/implements were never primed when new and they held up well, besides spritzing with OSPHO seems to work better and allow the "real" coating to adhere to iron. If the primer is not a etching primer then it is of less quality than the enamel finish coat. OSPHO is both a sacrificial layer and a rust remover, so I may use that on much of the work except tin. I really like primer, but it is not what it used to be before they took the lead out, nowadays on iron there are other ways to go.
  23. Sounds like the problems in Greece have effected prices, but it could be just another delusional seller. The A80R might be a very desirable mower for many small yards, so like small subcompact tractors prices reflect demand.
  24. Well it's the wrong model snowblower and the deck isn't the correct one either, it will need to be fabricated to work, the muffler shield is missing as are the side rail tins, it doesn't even have a sleeve hitch and it doesn't say whether or not it has a drive shaft for the snow blower, deck or tiller. The battery hold down piece has been replaced with a piece of wood and the replacement seat is torn up and wires are hanging loose from the side. The tractor itself is in fair condition, about 500.00 worth TOPS, another 200.00 for the tiller. 150.00 for the blower, and 50.00 for the oddball deck. That brings it to a grand total of 900.00, which for a tractor that only has one implement that was for the tractor and no rear hitch is a lot of money. Looks like he thinks it will cost 4600.00 for the shipping or he wants to make another 3600.00 off of shipping. The guy is delusional.
