  1. Really nice trailer, 4 wheeled trailers are really hard to find and are extremely useful, Good Score!
  2. Seemed like it rained for 40 days and 40 nights. it's in the high 90's now with high humidity, that issupoosed last for some time. Had I been basting one of the neighbors cows with marinade during the rain, by next week it would have been slow cooked brisket.
  3. Mostly as a symbol of faith toward anyone I might counsel. I am non denominational, but during counseling, some would prefer a person that believes. I do believe, however I do not follow a particular faith or religion or think man can know the things of the Universe. I think it is best if we try to live like good little humans and take care of one another, and let life reveals to us what it would like. Well I also get a real neat parking permit, only in America. My life was similar. I have not gotten to the point of giving back, but I have changed and I am working toward that goal
  4. Yes it does, we have had a few dry years recently and this year the spigot was turned on. 30+ inches of rain in 6 months is about 6-9 more than usual which doesn't seem like a lot except that most of it came in 40 days
  5. It will not only be retained, but added too as well. I plan on bringing in 20 tons or so, maybe 40
  6. My, My, some of you are gluttons for punishment. More than one wife? wow. Whether she be newer, younger, or have extravagant equipment, do you think the tongue would be any less sharp, or the voice any less shrill, or the stare less piercing. I think not. lol. I'm not perfect, no one is. Alain
  7. That's right it is Reverend Alain now. My credentials came through today. It was perk of many hours of sociology, ethics, and philosophy. If any of you blokes travel to Oklahoma I can marry you to each other since Oklahoma is a same sex marriage state. This should take care of any tractor squabbles, or will it? hmmmm
  8. Thanks all, we made it through high and dry. The storm veered east and missed us some. I piled lots more dirt at the back and along with the trench I dug it kept the water from coming in. I still need several more dump trucks worth of dirt. My thoughts and prayers are with those that bore the brunt of the storm, they are evacuating and sheltering away from home and will go back to ruined homes, some will have lost family members, one has already lost a two year old that was swept away in a store parking lot. Very sad.
  9. Looks like my potatoes should break the surface of the water about noon tomorrow
  10. The hurricane when it comes inland usually spawns many Tornadoes, it looks like this one is no different, Tornadoes south of us heading this way, but I doubt they can stay on the ground that long. I don't mind the twisters as much as the floods, I knew I shouldn't have prayed for rain so much last year. http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/OOLO.lakepage.html were running 15,717,220 cubic feet per minute of water out the spillway right now, or about 27,000 cubic feet per second
  11. Yes, in fact I could store a few of yours if you would be so kind as to send them over.
  12. 5 years ago three 18 year old boys drowned the day after graduation attempting to canoe the rapids at the spill way, the currents are unlike a natural waterway and large boulders are right beneath the surface of the water. it was a sad day for the town.
  13. We have a small spillway in the shallow part of the lake to release the overage, here is it running one week ago, more than double is coming out now. remember this lake is 15 miles long. Here is another video taken today at the small spillway releasing 14 million gallons of water per minute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfX708wWUJU Lake Keystone dam 35 miles southwest of us releasing water. Grand Lake at Pensacola Dam releasing water 40 miles north east of us We have over a dozen lakes within 75 miles of us that are all over 10 miles long, grand Lake has 1800 miles of shore line
  14. My wife loves to go get garden tractors with me or even to look or buy an implement. She is the first one ready with a cooler and snacks, sometimes it turns into a two day trip and she is ready to go again the next day if need be. We went after a tractor on our honeymoon and first anniversary. I guess I am very, very lucky.
  15. Hurricane Bill is almost here, it has hit Dallas and all the streets are under water and now its moving our way. Right now its about 70 miles or less south of us. Our area is forecast to receive 10-15 inches between now and Thursday evening
  16. It has never flooded here in the 20 years I have been here. We have had almost 30 inches of rain this year to date, last year we had 29 all year. As bad as it may seem to me, there are others South of me in both Oklahoma and Texas that will lose their homes, many will be flooded and some will be swept away. it has already occurred a few weeks ago and this round will be worse. I have been digging moats and piling large piles of dirt in a berm around back. The county gave me a dump truck load last go-around that they scooped from the bar ditch
  17. We got another 5 inches of rain this week. We have been able to keep the water out through diverting it with a small trench, but I don't think we are going to be able to keep the water out Thursday. We are expecting another 10" to 12" of rain on Thursday alone. Tomorrow morning we will be raising everything off the floor and hoping it doesn't get more than 12" inside the house
  18. More pictures, I had a great day in digging, I came up with 3 points my self, almost everyone got two
  19. Uh-Oh, now he is free to post pub pictures, not sure if this is wise
  20. You know the comedians union is going to be after you for telling jokes online without a union card
  21. I really like that small mower, it would be useful to cut the grass between rows in the vegetable garden, its been too wet to get in there with a rotovator for some time.
  22. Andrew this is a very interesting period, about 11,000 years ago. For several hundred thousand years man the same species as us had been wandering around living off the flora and fauna with no real serious development, however not long after this and within the next 10,000 years we were able to go to the moon and put 7 billion people on earth. Now why do you suppose the same man would wander around this earth quite content for so long and then suddenly come to want and develop so much more? I believe something happened to change man as he was into something different as he is today, I do not know what that is, but is it a coincident that that it coincides closely to the time of Genesis or is it visa-versa that the time of Genesis is when things changed and that is where our history was started. I don't know and that's not really the answer I am looking for, I am looking to chart the change in our thinking across this time span. As it is today women do not need a man for security or sustenance, that makes man somewhat redundant in many ways, and changes the way women feel and think about us and how we think about them. That is a big change from what it was like in the not so distant past. When a lion is no longer a lion, soon there will be no lions.
  23. I'm not sure the Ferrari tractors 3 point is useful with those tires
  24. Good to cherish these days and great friends!
  25. This work will be my foundation or starting point into my work in Evolutionary Psychology. This is where it all begins for me.
