That's right it is Reverend Alain now. My credentials came through today. It was perk of many hours of sociology, ethics, and philosophy. If any of you blokes travel to Oklahoma I can marry you to each other since Oklahoma is a same sex marriage state. This should take care of any tractor squabbles, or will it? hmmmm

Thanks all, we made it through high and dry. The storm veered east and missed us some. I piled lots more dirt at the back and along with the trench I dug it kept the water from coming in. I still need several more dump trucks worth of dirt. My thoughts and prayers are with those that bore the brunt of the storm, they are evacuating and sheltering away from home and will go back to ruined homes, some will have lost family members, one has already lost a two year old that was swept away in a store parking lot. Very sad.

Looks like my potatoes should break the surface of the water about noon tomorrow

The hurricane when it comes inland usually spawns many Tornadoes, it looks like this one is no different, Tornadoes south of us heading this way, but I doubt they can stay on the ground that long. I don't mind the twisters as much as the floods, I knew I shouldn't have prayed for rain so much last year.

were running 15,717,220 cubic feet per minute of water out the spillway right now, or about 27,000 cubic feet per second

5 years ago three 18 year old boys drowned the day after graduation attempting to canoe the rapids at the spill way, the currents are unlike a natural waterway and large boulders are right beneath the surface of the water. it was a sad day for the town.

We have a small spillway in the shallow part of the lake to release the overage, here is it running one week ago, more than double is coming out now.
remember this lake is 15 miles long.
Here is another video taken today at the small spillway releasing 14 million gallons of water per minute.

Lake Keystone dam 35 miles southwest of us releasing water.
Grand Lake at Pensacola Dam releasing water 40 miles north east of us
We have over a dozen lakes within 75 miles of us that are all over 10 miles long, grand Lake has 1800 miles of shore line

Hurricane Bill is almost here, it has hit Dallas and all the streets are under water and now its moving our way. Right now its about 70 miles or less south of us. Our area is forecast to receive 10-15 inches between now and Thursday evening
-
It has never flooded here in the 20 years I have been here. We have had almost 30 inches of rain this year to date, last year we had 29 all year. As bad as it may seem to me, there are others South of me in both Oklahoma and Texas that will lose their homes, many will be flooded and some will be swept away. it has already occurred a few weeks ago and this round will be worse. I have been digging moats and piling large piles of dirt in a berm around back. The county gave me a dump truck load last go-around that they scooped from the bar ditch
-
We got another 5 inches of rain this week. We have been able to keep the water out through diverting it with a small trench, but I don't think we are going to be able to keep the water out Thursday. We are expecting another 10" to 12" of rain on Thursday alone. Tomorrow morning we will be raising everything off the floor and hoping it doesn't get more than 12" inside the house

More pictures, I had a great day in digging, I came up with 3 points my self, almost everyone got two

I really like that small mower, it would be useful to cut the grass between rows in the vegetable garden, its been too wet to get in there with a rotovator for some time.

Andrew this is a very interesting period, about 11,000 years ago. For several hundred thousand years man the same species as us had been wandering around living off the flora and fauna with no real serious development, however not long after this and within the next 10,000 years we were able to go to the moon and put 7 billion people on earth. Now why do you suppose the same man would wander around this earth quite content for so long and then suddenly come to want and develop so much more? I believe something happened to change man as he was into something different as he is today, I do not know what that is, but is it a coincident that that it coincides closely to the time of Genesis or is it visa-versa that the time of Genesis is when things changed and that is where our history was started. I don't know and that's not really the answer I am looking for, I am looking to chart the change in our thinking across this time span. As it is today women do not need a man for security or sustenance, that makes man somewhat redundant in many ways, and changes the way women feel and think about us and how we think about them. That is a big change from what it was like in the not so distant past. When a lion is no longer a lion, soon there will be no lions.

I'm not sure the Ferrari tractors 3 point is useful with those tires

The American translation is on top of the decal, no problem understanding what it says. OB is looking for the correct spelling and use of the foreign languages, However knowing what exact phrase in the particular dialect was used is important because The American phrase at the top is not what phrase or words were used in the other languages

German: Vor Dem Schalten Zum Stillstand Kommen, letters missing after zum, not sure what?????
French: Arrestez complete avant de, some letters missing after complete??
Swedish: This is a translation in the vernacular, not direct translation
I'm not sure what the third language down is???? but I think it may still be part of the french translation from the previous line

That's funny. It's several miles from any road that even a tractor or four wheeler could use, I'm not sure if you could get a horse in there. I guess that's why the hunting is so good still today.

Thanks lain, here are some closeups, hopefully not too close. I have the pictures listed as left front, left rear, right front, and right rearC, That is how and where I have pinned the deck, however my lift does not go up and down. Thanks for any help

After we wet screen and wash each of the 20cm x 20cm x 5cm sections we pick out all the bone, tools, artifacts, chip stone, shell, etc, like I said, then these things are put into small baggies and labeled with the block and lot number as well as directional quadrant and level indicators that are mapped on the grid. I am in Lot 16 grid 15 and cleaned sections 55 through 61 today, that encompassed levels 105 and 106 in the NE, SE, SW, and NW quadrants of Lot 16. Each lot gets its own big bag the little bags go into. Then each bag is taken back to lab where it is rewashed and each separate material (bone, tool, chip stone, shell, artifact, etc.) is counted, weighed and measured, all this is listed into a log book and the numbers of how many tool, chip stone, bone, shell, and artifacts that are found in each section are then fed into a computer where it determines how much of the material was from the original layer and how much may have been transferred through natural or man ( or animal) made disturbances. The burnt bone is able to be dated so when we find younger bone mixed in with older bone and artifacts we know there was a transference of material between layers. The hope is that the computer can adjust for the anomalies of transference and give us data on when different civilizations used the site and for how long. I found another Arrow head today, everyone finds one everyday, but I also found lots of bone including the jaw bone of a rabbit with the teeth, Sorry to say I did not find the ears or tail.

Iain, My brackets look different, the ones that attach the mower to the tractor, I will get pictures. I see your curved bracket, but I thought the hydros do not use the curved bracket? Thanks, I understand about the size of belts and PTO guards and all is well there.

I am working on a Archaeological dig site not far from my house, the artifacts we are recovering are 11,000 years of age. I found many arrow heads and tons of deer bone. This was a hunting camp several days trek from the village, The indigenous population from around 11,000 years ago used this rock shelter to hunt large game from then butcher it and drag it home after processing. One of the arrow heads I found was broken and was probably lodged in an animal that was cooked at the site from the heat marks on it. What is amazing is that arrow head was smaller than a dime. We process an area 50cm x 50cm and 5cm deep at a time recording measurements from a set point. Then we wash and separate the dirt and rock from the artifacts, chip stone, shell, and bone and bag it and catalog it. As you can see the water for washing must be pumped from a creek, it then goes 10 meters up a hill to a tank then we gravity feed it down a hose to a sprayer. The creek rarely has water so next week unless we can get someone to bring water to us we will be shut down. Sorry about some of the poor pictures I'm just getting used to this camera/phone/computer/mixer/can opener

Plenty of H14s in the states, I don't see many H16s. They made the H16 in 1973 as the model 1656-01, but not in 1974 or 1975, they resumed production again in 1976 and made the 1656-02 and 1656-03 models, and in 1977 made the H16 model 1656-04. mine is a 1976 1656-03 or a late 1976

In preparation for the 1556 restoration I took the AG tires and tr-ribs off the Bolens H16 and mounted them on the 1556 rims. I then mounted my new 24x9.50-12 and 16x6.50-8 Carlisle Multi-Trac C/S turf tires all the way around the H16 and installed the deck, not sure I did it right, but it is on. Here is were it got interesting. Most Bolens owners know there is an adjustment (slotted holes) on the PTO, and that you can loosen or tighten it up or down depending on worn or new belts, etc. Well I had installed the PTO and with the engagement off and pulled the PTO Down as far as it could go, then tightened the nuts, this made the PTO/mower deck constantly run, even when starting. Not knowing what was going on (PTO and deck was quite) I climbed aboard and proceeded to drive out the shop. All was well until I hit the piece of carpet I was using to lay on, that's when things got dicey, luckily the engine stalled and I got off for a look. I don't see very well at all up close, in fact I just noticed in one of the pictures that a nail is been used on the hydraulic lift instead of a hairpin. That comes to my final question. I'm not sure I have the lift bracket on correctly (or any brackets for that matter) I have the small curved piece and the straight piece and I think I'm just supposed to have the straight piece from the deck to the lift. The deck is black and that makes seeing things even worse. I am now ready to start painting the 1556. Thanks to all.
