I put the cultivator behind the 312-8 today just to try it, it works well and will work even better when the tines and wheels are adjusted. The ground was too wet for any cultivating really, I can't wait till we get better weather.




The 312-8 still amazes me at its capabilities and I am very impressed by it. I would love to add 26x12x12 tyres in the future or even some wheel weights. Once our workshop has been finished I am going to de-grease it and wash it right down and give it a good service. I would like to renew engine oil and transmission oil, new air filter, new spark plug, new fuel filter, renew grease in spindles and front axle pivot, weld up hi-low lever, add slot hitch and cable, fabricate a battery holder, either replace or repair seat, potentially add some lights, just give it a birthday really It won't be going anywhere so I want to make it nice.

I actually bought these implements around a month ago off of a guy who was selling some barford atom stuff to make room for other things. Anyway here are some pictures:





Really happy with this haul, I've never seen a cylinder mower before and the discs are quite rare. Plus the cultivator frame is complete which again is quite rare as they are usually incomplete. Hopefully I can get some of it hooked up to my barford atoms soon and have a play!

Hi all,
I have to admit I haven't had to sell many of my own collection yet although I did let my suburban go which I regretted a lot and I was lucky enough to buy it back, I definitely won't be letting that go again.
Another one I definitely won't let go is Ian's 312-8 as it's a really nice machine and I feel that it has a lot of sentimental value if you like within the wheel horse community as it was such a famous horse.

Looking really good mark, you have done an excellent job. Definitely post up a thread regarding the rocker shaft as I have been thinking about making one too and it would be interesting to see how you did yours.

I couldn't agree more, my dad uses his defender solely for work as he tows a lot of trailers and we had a Nissan Navara for a family car and longer journeys however it recently had a timing chain break.

Had a tidy up a re-arrangement in my little shed this morning, I mainly use this for my lathe and reconditioning carbs and stripping down engines as it's well lit and warm! I also have some shelves which I store any lathe tools and barford atom spares. I have my larger garage but my land rover which is currently in bits has taken up most of this!!

Trust me it's usually a mess! Mine is 1997 300tdi 90 defender, one of the last 300's Dad has also got a 96 300tdi 90 defender, we love them.

A nice little deck for my suburban, I realise it's actually an RJ deck but it came up at a good price and I couldn't turn it down so I bit the bullet. It will fit my suburban so at least I can use it, maybe I'll come across an RJ to put it on! I plan to fabricate a new shell for it, well I can try at least.
