moogie got a reaction from Triumph66 in Todays project.
Im fed up running up and down to the local tyre company , so made my own tyre changer.
All made from scrap lying around my workshop.
The bead breaker works great.
Pull bar was made from a bit of 3/4 sprung steel and the ball end is the lower part of a Borg warner gear stick.

What parts are hard to get in the UK ?
I already know that the rubber gear stick boots and Raider headlight lens are hard to get here. I have a trip to Florida coming up soon and plan to get a few parts to put in my suit case for the trip home. Much cheaper than paying the postage.

Got my front hubs today, very happy with how they turned out. Total cost of all parts and machine work £60.
Now that i can measure the width of the front axle i can make a start on narrowing the rear axle. The Vitara axle has a offset diff so i need to remove 280mm from one axle tube and 320mm from the other. Once cut i will add a sleve to strengthen the tube and the half shafts will be sent out to be shortened.
Need to go now and get a lend of a slide hammer to get the half shafts out and then the cutting can begin.

Picked these up today. The more complete one is a Ransomes 10 inch two horse plough and the other is a Pierce of Wexford 8 inch single horse plough.
As the 8 inch Pierce plough has a lot of parts missing, i am going to convert it into something i can use behind the Wheel Horse. The Ransomes will be cleaned up, painted and set in my garden. I suppose you could class these as family heirlooms as the Ramsomes belonged to my grandfather and the Pierce was my great grandfathers.

You'll be lucky to find a light lens. Like hens teeth. Mark, (meadowfield), does decals that you can fix to a piece of clear plastic.
As to those instructions for clutch adjustment, I would say they are for something else.

Not much left to do now.
Just need to get a new seat, paint the wheels, find a rubber boot for the gear leaver and a replacement headlight lens. If anyone knows where i can get the last two items please send me a pm.

Managed to get some more paint today and sprayed the remaining parts.
Top pip.
If you are going to do a complete strip down, take LOT'S of photo's. I wish i had. There was a bit of head scratching went on when i was trying to reassemble some of the parts.
Apart from that i got on fairly well today. Working with fresh paint is not fun, its so easy to inflict large scrapes with the slightest touch.

I was going well today until i ran out of paint and the supplier is closed for the holidays. Doh!
so im going to have to wait another day or two to get everything finished off.
Decided to start building what i had.
Got on quite well, i think its looking good.
Put the wheels on for now but they will be sent off to the bead blasters at a later date and finished off in an off white.
