  1. Well done Matt, runs well, i see your dog made a hasty exit in the first video
  2. One 3 speed tranny back together with new needle bearings and oil seals , and the best bit is that it selects all the gears. I'll get the hubs and pulleys back on and back in the tractor tomorrow
  3. I would love to have been there when she fired up Matt, love the ID tag and those rivetts, wow !
  4. I've got 4 in bits, i need one for the tractor on the bench and one for a 69 Commando 7 and if i can make up another for a spare will be good, but i need at least 2
  5. Finally got my bearings and seals to day so hopefully get them pressed in the casings tomorrow
  6. Best i can do for ya
  7. Yeh you could be right Koen, i take some photos of my tractor in the daylight, just trying to help out
  8. Looking at it this far, i guess another day will be worth the wait Matt
  9. Just got it from my kohler book, I'll do photos of the tractor in the morning
  10. Another positive day Norm, its coming together nicely
  11. Well done Tom, not many of those around
  12. Well done Nigel, looks fun to drive, what are you going to use it for ?
  13. Another day on the trannys, out of 4 i have found 2 casings with good ball bearings in and have cleaned them both up in the parts washer, ordered all new needle bearings and oil seals from my local bearing shop. They have them all in stock at another branch and i will have them Wednesday, ive made a new gasket so at a standstill until they arrive
  14. It would have to go in before the bearing as the other end is smaller, all you can do is what you did and use an enclosed bearing as against the open type fitted
  15. Oh thats nice, looks so good in black and silver and a photo to look at
  16. Two will have to go back on the tractor Mark, don't know if i have any others, the 1" ones are hard to find now
  17. After going to buy a new drill, i spent the afternoon in the shed. I finished drilling out the hitch pin removed allthe hubs from both boxes without braking them with my home made puller and opened them up. The box on the left is the one that won't go in 3rd gear, it looks like the problem is rusty balls in the selector shafts and the one on the right is the box out of the tractor which is just about a bin job, there was aload of needles in the bottom and one of the roller bearings is missing some balls. Next job is to throw it all in the parts washer and see what can be saved out of three boxes
  18. I'm hoping to, once i get them open
  19. Not having much luck with the trannys, the one i was going to fit won't go into 3rd gear now and i cant get the hubs off to open it up and have a look. Removed the tranny from the tractor, got the hub off one side and the other came out with the shaft and the needle bearing is shot, started drilling out the towbar pin and the drill went up in smoke. So at the moment I've got 3 transmissions scattered across the workshop floor and the chard remains of a drill
  20. Looking better and better Norm
  21. Top job Norm, they look really good
