  1. Just had a look on their website, they only do a 3 rib in 400 x 8, but they do a multirib in a wider size, there listed under hay turner multirib
  2. I've always got my rib tyres from all tarrain tyres, but don't know if they do them for the wider rims
  3. Good job Norm, a few more ticks today
  4. Never mind the paint, lets see some doughnuts
  5. I've only just mastered photos James, don't confuse me even more with movies
  6. All fitted back in the tractor, flicked the key and away she went, nice and smooth, quiet and no smoke , result !!!. Very pleased with that, job done
  7. Done a bit more today, i dont know why but i looked underneath the sump this morning and guess what no threaded holes so something else to swap over, glad i had a gaskit, next was the exhaust, it had a smaller pipe bolted to the block and of course they wouldn't undo then out with my big tap and a new piece of pipe. Might get it bolted in the tractor tomorrow
  8. Happy Birthday Tom, hope you have a good day and lots of goodies
  9. Really taking shape now mate, has that " down in the weeds " look. And nothing meaner
  10. I think the biggest problem was the weather, if it had been raining Pam would have stayed indoors
  11. Now you tell me, I could be interested in yours, i pulled the sump off mine and it seems to have a lot of play from the fibre governor gear wheel, i have never had one of these apart but it looks a mega job to change it. It looks like everything has to come out before you can get at it
  12. Her in doors came in the workshop and wanted a ton of 10mm shingle for the garden so off we went, so progress on the engine was slow as i only managed to do bits in between the barrow fulls of shingle and cups of tea So at the end of the day this is where I'm at, see what interruptions i get tomorrow
  13. Next was the starter and flywheel, after a fight with the flywheels i found the backplates were different, so off they came and luckily i had some gaskits, this is where it all went pear shaped
  14. When i was up at Ian's helping him move, he had a spare engine sat in his shed so a deal was struck and I brought it home. Its been sat on my garage floor ever since so today I thought it was time i did something with it. Its a 12 hp pull start, so just swop a few bits over, ha ha . You'll notice I swapped the pulley and pto clutch first to see if the crank was the same
  15. Here's a couple of photos, its a C series with a 12 hp
  16. A while ago i got a Wheehorse in that had been standing for a long time, after cleaning the points and fuel system i got it to fire up. The bit that frightened me was when i opened up the throttle the rpm went through the roof, there was a big cloud of crap from the cowling and a load of sparks from the exhaust, after it settled back down it ran as sweet as a nut except the governor wasn't working. I didn't know weather to look for another engine or cut my grass at 50 mph
  17. HAPPY BIRTHDAY mate enjoy you evening
  18. I think they must of built the tractor as a mower to start with as many of the accessories that fit Wheelhorse are manufactured by other companies and sold under their banner
  19. Done a bit more today, made a new wiring loom replaced the rubber bushing in the fuel tank, cleaned out the carb, replaced the solenoid and made new battery leads and new fuel pipe. Had it running in the shed on stands for ages and ran it through the gears, all seems good. I'm at the point now where I've got to decide ,,, do i bolt it back together and offer it for sale or do i do a complete resto job then sell it
  20. Hi Martin, you won't go far wrong with the C series, good robust tractor. Once you got one and have the model number you can download a manual from the Toro site, spares are easy to get new and secondhand and Kohler engines are the best (in my opinion). Silencer,s are pretty expensive and batterys run at about £50, the most thing they suffer from is badly maintained by their owners. The tyres are always cracked and perished but last for ages, just look at the trackrods as they are always worn and they suffer from water in the transmission, just drain and refill with the correct oil, just give it a good service and grease up and clean the deck when you finish mowing, anything else give us a shout, and good luck with it. Chris
  21. Thanks Andrew, the casing i had in stock and the needle rollers and oil seals came from BRT bearings in Brighton, they had them in stock
  22. Well its all back in the tractor, had it running and been through the gears and all seems to be doing what it should. Left it running for a bit in gear to circulate the oil
  23. At the end of the day I've ended up with a working 3 speed tranny with new bearings and seals, all I've got to do is refit it and fill it with oil
  24. Don't go on numbers on transmissions, all the casings i have are stamped 6941 but underneath there is a small number 1, 2, and 3, 1 and 2 are 3 speed 1" axles only difference is which hole the brake shaft comes out of, and 3 is the same except it has 1 1/8" axles. All very confusing when you've got 4 boxes in bits, anyway heres some photos, you work it out
