pmackellow reacted to the showman in The Trachorse Story And Build
This project was something I had in my head for a while. Being a lover of Wheelhorse's and tracked vehicles having driven diggers and alike for years, I looked at a few MG's but didn't like the metal tracks
One day a friend gave me a Wheelhorse A 90, it came from a school and had a seized engine and had been partly dismantled to stop the children playing with it, this started me thinking, all I had to do was find something on rubber tracks, narrow enough to go through a garden gate and have forward and reverse gears rather than hydromatic.

pmackellow reacted to the showman in Building a Wheelhorse From Scratch
I'am not to sure to use a rear fender and like the look of the fender kit used on the RJ's which I bought on one of my trips to the Wheelhorse show in PA. a bit of bodywork looks very useable, pick a gas tank, and cut the upstand the last photo of the front axle parts but you'll have to wait until tomorrow for the answer

pmackellow reacted to Ian in Wheel Horse GT-14+2
The rear hitch with lower arms bolted in place.. Yep the roll bar will certainly need a bit of trimming!
Just to see how it would look I dug my 3 point towing frame thingy out to see how it would look... Good me thinks
Before chopping any bit's off the roll bar I quickly welded on this bit of bracing to stop the RB from twanging out of shape.
Off came the RB for a bit of surgery, first a bit of marking out..
Chopped.. All the opening will be plated over in time
That's better, the top arm "fits" now
It was at this point that I had had enough of trying to see what I was doing through the GT's fenders etc.. So off it all came
More to come in a bit, I need to get started on dinner..
Thanks Paul, there's plenty more to come.

pmackellow reacted to meadowfield in Raider 16 4x4 articulated -aka project bendy
This has been on the drawing board for a while now.
Started life as a sorry specimen from Surrey a few years ago.
Cue a few crates and a bit of balancing
Some RSJ
Lots of cutting
Welding and drilling
And a pivot was formed
A bit more welding
A drawing
Some more welding and cutting
And the rear subframe was finished

I was looking at the mower deck this evening and pondering how to pick out the warning notice lettering... I then had
a lightbulb moment and checking that my angle grinder had a well worn disc in it I EVER so gently tickled the paint
off the tops of the letters... don't think it came up too bad...
Still waiting for one or two bits of paint to dry and then the other pair of wheels and the deflector plate can go back on,
hopefully tomorrow...

pmackellow got a reaction from Anglo Traction in Hayter Osprey
All I have on the Hayter Osprey is as below, sorry no manuals, top bit of second photo upside down as it flaps over the front, so thats how its printed...
The engine number should be on the air filter side of the cowling, the first two digits of the third set of numbers should give you the year...

Top edge of deflector plate painted this evening and two wheels back on the mower deck, I can't refit the others until
the deflector plate is ready to go back on as the same bolts that are used for the wheels also attach the deflector plate
to the mower...
