meadowfield 1,900 #1 Posted January 2, 2015 My son bought a plough cheap at a show, finally got round to modifying it to clevis mount. Firstly making the mount from a few chunky bits of metal from Doug And then making the handle 3 Triumph66, ranger and nigel reacted to this

Ian 2,417 #3 Posted January 2, 2015 Nice fabrication work mate.. Is that my old clevis hitch? If so it certainly looks a million times better with some paint on it..

Tom 215 #7 Posted January 3, 2015 Looking forward to this, is that the rigid body or adjustable barford atom plough? I have always thought of doing this to one of mine.. Tom
meadowfield 1,900 #8 Posted January 3, 2015 Looking forward to this, is that the rigid body or adjustable barford atom plough? I have always thought of doing this to one of mine.. Tom No idea Tom, it was fastened to a 2 inch round tube, there's no adjustment so we will need to modify
meadowfield 1,900 #9 Posted January 3, 2015 Actually set it at the side of my mahoooosive 12" plough... Other than size the geometry is about the same So other than painting the clevis adapter, that's about it! 2 Triumph66 and ranger reacted to this
meadowfield 1,900 #10 Posted January 4, 2015 Well it does lift from the deck handle too, made a rocker shaft, bushes and lift arm. Might do a thread on that... 1 Stormin reacted to this
Tom 215 #11 Posted January 4, 2015 Looking really good mark, you have done an excellent job. Definitely post up a thread regarding the rocker shaft as I have been thinking about making one too and it would be interesting to see how you did yours. Stormin 4,458 #12 Posted January 4, 2015 Well it does lift from the deck handle too, made a rocker shaft, bushes and lift arm. Might do a thread on that... Please do. Looks a lot better and stronger than the WH cable arrangement. My main problem would be the fuel tanks, being at the back.
meadowfield 1,900 #13 Posted January 4, 2015 Here you go boys! http://myoldmachine.com/topic/1532-wheel-horse-clevis-hitch-lift-assembly/ It's strong enough to lift my 17 year old son... He stood on the clevis whilst I pulled the handle
meadowfield 1,900 #14 Posted March 27, 2015 been a while since this thread was updated.... Ewan has been hard at work plating parts and using all new stainless fasteners. With a lick of paint and a few stickers, here is the finished plough! All ready for this years Wheel Horse roundup 3 slf-uk, Ian and Triumph66 reacted to this
Tom 215 #15 Posted March 28, 2015 Very nice Mark, you guys have done a great job, you'd never know it was off of a Barford atom. I look forward to more pictures of it after the wheel horse roundup. Tom
Stormin 4,458 #16 Posted March 28, 2015 Very nice. I'm going to have a good look at that at Newby.
Tom 215 #17 Posted March 29, 2015 Hi Mark, I was just wondering if you knew what the rough height of the hitch end of the plough was when it's sitting on the floor? Tom
meadowfield 1,900 #18 Posted March 29, 2015 I'll take some measurements at the weekend. Geometry wise it's a smaller version of my 12" mouldboard, it seems to scale right for the depth. Other then the lawn we haven't tried it yet....
slf-uk 914 #19 Posted March 29, 2015 Looks fantastic, almost too good to use. Tom, if you bring your plough around we can sit it beside my Brinly. Iain
Tom 215 #20 Posted March 31, 2015 That'd be great Mark. Good idea Iain, when I come round I'll bring one with me and we can offer them up to each other! Tom
