More finds at John's.

Recommended Posts

A few more items found weeks ago while clearing out at John's.  First, a 9" diameter wheel.  Crude and not perfectly round. Any idea's anyone.

Steering or control wheel.?  1/2" bar and split clamp with 1/2" bore.   post-385-0-41709200-1458076045_thumb.jpgpost-385-0-74154500-1458076101_thumb.jpgpost-385-0-77664300-1458076161_thumb.jpg

Next, an odd looking spring compressor.    post-385-0-76593100-1458076369_thumb.jpgpost-385-0-36946500-1458076425_thumb.jpgpost-385-0-47352200-1458076488_thumb.jpgpost-385-0-51176300-1458076561_thumb.jpg

Third is a Potato lifter ?  Can be angled left or right.  Well, it could if it wasn't it seized up. Various other seized up adjustments too.   post-385-0-27162200-1458077051_thumb.jpgpost-385-0-03722700-1458077120_thumb.jpgpost-385-0-52644700-1458077182_thumb.jpgpost-385-0-30521000-1458077250_thumb.jpg

And the biggest turnbuckle / tensioner the Showman says he has ever seen.  He is wondering if he can use it on a future project.  post-385-0-22971100-1458077555_thumb.jpg

Mentioned on the forum recently was a few lengths of box section steel with Royal Mail lettering. Stormin Norm requested they be thrown into the Showman's van for him for when they next meet.  Chris was muttering something today about making a special delivery,  signed for and tracked,  trip.  Well, his van is red.

After tearing himself away from tea and coffee making duties at home, he has to keep his builders happy, Chris was sent to collect some roofing tiles from John.  Where else.  To make the trip worth while, and due to a shortage of red bits, another load of sticks went back home with him.  Another nice but cold "What can we find today" day.

I like that potato lifter. :)  Is there room in Chris van? ;)

YES. Next visit.  It will need work though. Apart from seized parts some, maybe all, of the five spring arms ? are rusted away where they join the triangular spade.  Do you want another signed for special delivery.  I'm sure Chris would be happy to oblige.

Yes please. I doubt it will ever be used, but repaired and cleaned up, will be a good exhibit behind one of the horses.

Its just mind boggling the stuff john has collected over the years, I bet there isn't any where in the country that you could find a collection like john had, the man is a legend.

Your right Nigel, going to Johns every Tuesday over the past year has been the best day of the week for me, we've found a lot of stuff and had great fun doing it. Life won't be same when it comes to an end but will leave me with a lot of fond memories.

In the mean time roll on next Tuesday
