A very diverse choice this year We last used this Westwood diesel back in 2010 and I can't remember what is wrong with it We last used the D-160 about 18mths ago and it has a number of electrical issues You may remember this Bolens Husky 1054 from John's. I am also looking forward to the Westwood D1200 as well. It was the first tractor I ever drove. Wristpin 400 #11 Posted December 26, 2018 In their day those diesel Westwoods were not exactly a “happy” machine. Rather typical of a diesel lump being dropped into a petrol chassis. Later on Countax had the same issue putting the Yanmar lump into the A20/50. Westwoods suffered bad vibration, broken fuel pipes and chafed wiring and then , Fire! We are currently working on the D-160 and so far have replaced the coil, points, condenser, HT lead, LT wiring and plug. Joseph 332 #18 Posted January 1, 2019 Tractor on fire We rebuilt the fuel system and fitted a new fuel pipe on the D160. We then connected a new battery and started it up. It ran well for a couple of minutes, then smoke and flames started coming from under the battery tray. We switched the tractor off and investigated. The regulator had shorted out and ignited debris. In this country we have the extra joy of the Post Office for anything ordered overseas, unless it comes via ebay Global Shipping. Before Christmas I ordered something overseas which cost me £12, the Post Office then charged me £2 import duty and £8 handling fee, plus 20% tax, giving an overall import cost of £12 - 100% increase on the initial purchase price. The Post Office does have a massive hole in its pension scheme which it needs help with, but this is taking the biscuit. Iain Alexis de Tocqueville was sent to America in 1831 by the French government to study many aspects of our government and wrote a book about his findings and comparing them to some of the problems Europe was facing due to a socialistic government. He believed one day America would fall to the same ways as more people demanded more for doing less.
