Ian 2,417 #227 Posted December 24, 2014 That ram looks a bit on the wimpy side, do you think it will be strong enough? 1 meadowfield reacted to this

meadowfield 1,900 #229 Posted December 26, 2014 That ram looks a bit on the wimpy side, do you think it will be strong enough? Hmmm, not so sure... He can always double up !! :) Could be a plan... 1 Cub Cadet reacted to this
ranger 373 #230 Posted December 27, 2014 You could always reverse the cylinder so it pushes forward with a link to 'pull' the lift arm lug instead of a direct connection with the cylinder. That way you would have a larger surface of piston for the oil to act upon, with no losses from the rod to worry about. ps, found you 4 fittings 10l -3/8 bspp ;)
meadowfield 1,900 #231 Posted December 27, 2014 that was the original plan Doug, but there's just not enough room - I did the calculations. At 700psi (powersteering pump) it will lift 0.17 tons, and push down 0.24 tons.. With a decent geared pump (3000 psi) it will lift 0.74 tons and push down just over a ton. I think 700 psi is a good start point, that would lift me at the end of the lift arms I've got 4 10l -3/8 bspp fittings already, but they are the same at both end have you got some with metric thread on the other end? used some more of those brackets today to make part of the front three point hitch, plus turned some 19mm bushes down. cheers 2 Cub Cadet and diggerjames reacted to this
ranger 373 #232 Posted December 27, 2014 If you've got 10L-3/8 bspp fittings they should be 3/8" bsp parallel thread one end & metric the other, bsp fittings have a conical seat whilst metric is more rounded She's looking good !!
meadowfield 1,900 #233 Posted December 27, 2014 Maybe I haven't then, mine are bsp both ends 1 Cub Cadet reacted to this

meadowfield 1,900 #242 Posted January 16, 2015 cold and snowy outside, so got on inside and made a custom dash decal. The existing dash panel is in pretty good condition, but needs painting and I'd prefer the electric clutch to be something else so here is a new panel. 5 Ian, ranger, diggerjames and 2 others reacted to this

meadowfield 1,900 #245 Posted January 18, 2015 Looks nice Mark, obviously not using the plastic dash The plastic panel is in good nick, but I don't want the lighter socket and I want the electric clutch to say spots! So rather than try butcher a nice panel, I thought I'll add a sticker, will also match the lower dash panel. Very nice Mark Cheers 1 Cub Cadet reacted to this
meadowfield 1,900 #246 Posted January 23, 2015 Latest sticker order arrived today, so the lower dash panel is complete. 4 nigel, Cub Cadet, diggerjames and 1 other reacted to this
