The engine is a jap 5 ...made in London by John Arthur Prestwich....with a good exhaust it sounds great...low reving and even/quiet. Will put up video on you tube when i haul it out of shed for next vintage show (running) but in the meantime here is a youtube link to a 2011 gathering of 25 anzani iron horses making a world record attempt at a ploughing event in the Uk. Mick Green who features in the video was invaluble to me in supplying a lot of parts and is the expert on these machines

    British Anzani Iron Horse Restoration

Purchased this in 2012 (eBay) and restored last winter/ spring . It was in poor condition and the engine was shot ..so replaced original engine with one of same type ..a jap 5 with heavy flywheel and wipac mag. It was a nightmare to move on metal wheels so later type wheels fitted on those hard to get 600x 22 tyres . It was made in 1946.

Removing & Applying new decals ?

Have you tried using an old hair drier or a heat gun to warm up the old decals, this will help soften the adhesive on the back. Any residue left you can clean off with meths/thinners or petrol... How big are the new ones and what are they Neil?? Some people like to use a slightly soapy water mix to help get them in position.... Titch

    Conyers Battery Charging Set

A mate of mine down on the Sussex Coast (no not Mr Showman) has a large collection of stationary engines, mainly generators and battery charging sets, amongst which is a little set made by W.E.Conyers Ltd. I always fancied this little set and thought if one came along I would add it to the collection, as its 6 12 or 24 volt I could use it to demonstrate the 12 volt Tarpen equipment that I have. Walking round the Sunday Sortout at Newark last November I spotted a Conyers set on the very last stall we looked at. It wasn't dear so was duly purchased and brought back to the camping field (see first photo below) A few days later I popped down to see our mate Steve who owns the other Conyers set and found that not only did my set run with a bit of tinkering (and a bit of smoke - too much oil in the petrol) but that it and Steves set are only two serial numbers apart !!

    Bit wild.

High winds and rain today. Went over to youngest daughters this morning. She lives at Silloth on the coast. I decided to return along the marsh road which is something I often do. As I left the tide was running high, with waves breaking over the prom in places. Reaching the start of the marsh road, I could see the road was covered with choppy water reaching half way up the flood bank. Decided discrection the better part of valour and turned back.

How do i build an E tank

Everything that Mark has mentioned above. If you haven't done so yet , look it up on the Web, There are important things to understand about what kind of metals must never be put in the E-Tank. They can produce toxic chemical gasses (basically no Non Ferrous). The normal process on Mild, Black and Carbon steels, also Cast Iron produces Explosive Hydrogen Gas, must be well ventilated area. I also read somewhere to avoid using Battery Chargers that have an 'Auto Cut Out'. Read everything you can find on the subject is the best advice

Removing & Applying new decals ?

Yep! , If you are not familiar with applying these , Follow the advice above. Your surfaces must be smooth, thoroughly cleaned and degreased first and wiped over with a Tack Rag to remove dust and reduce static. I prefer to apply them Dry, taping in place and removing a section of the backing at a time and pressing and spreading out in a particular way using a semi rigid Roller.

    1958 Dexta

here's one of my all time favourite tractors - A Roadless Super Dexta. It's what has inspired me since being a teenager to own/make a 4x4 tractor. The front axles were military design, and the mods were made by a UK company Roadless traction.

    David Bradley, the walkers

Along with the riders I also have several different models of the walk-behind DB's. I never went all out in collecting these, as with 23 models and 50 -60 attachments, it would take a large shed to store them. So here is a few of them and some working ones.
