Not as old as some items posted but these parallel action pliers were bought for 10/- (50p) from a junk shop in about 1975. The government broad arrow is visible on the jaws showing that they had originally been supplied to the armed services or even the GPO (General Post Office - Telephones) forerunner to BT. The numbers are probably the contract number and date. In addition to the parallel action jaws another useful feature is that the hinge is constructed in such a way that wire can be fed right through - great for bending piano wire for control cables etc. The design has stood the test of time as identical pliers from the same manufacturer can can be bought today !

Hello all, As some of you will remember I made a post back in February welcoming a new member into our family, young Tyler was born, (my Nephew) he was born premature weighing only 3lbs 8oz. My sister was told he would be slower adapting then normal children. He wouldn't start sitting up,crawling touching and grabbing things until over a year old.... well how wrong can they be, he is now sitting up and can support himself, he has starting holding things even better still hes starting to chuckle, so listening to the doctors they told my sister he wouldn't be able to do these things until he was over a year old, he is now nearly 6 months old, AND...... he had his first drive on a wheel horse today and he loved it, needless to say, when the little lawnranger is done and finished its a pretty safe bet who is going to claim that! heres a few pictures.... the photos don't do me any justice, but hey!!! And now.... 4 weeks old to 4 months old, how much hes grown.... hes even bigger now!

I did the final assembly on my latest distraction this morning. To say I'm pleased with myself is an understatement After not a lot of planning, but a lot of thinking, putting together and taking apart. I managed to modify a wheel horse 8 pinion differential into a remote locking diff. This will be the rear transmission on my next 4WD project. Video was done this morning - I got distracted at lunchtime by my other hobby, making synthesisers and music... The music on the youtube vid is just one take of me noodling and driving the missus mad.
