    15 Years Ago This Month

Looking through my literature today i found that its been 15 years this month that i bought my first Wheelhorse. I was looking for something to exhibit at rallys and saw a ride-on-mower advertised in the Friday Ad for £50, on viewing it I decided to buy it although it didn't have any makers name on it. After getting it home and a bit of fiddling i got it running and then discovered it was a 1969 Commando 7. Over the years I've had the odd one or two but this has to be special to me as it got me started with this hobby?. All my grandchildren have learned to drive on it and ive still got it sitting in the shed waiting for Dylan to grow a bit more.

    Wheel Horse RJ-58 Restoration

Little bit more done recently, the throttle was missing so looking at a few photos I mocked one up in card that looked about right and then cut it out in a piece of scrap, it will do for now if it works.

    Homelite 2000 Chainsaw Restoration

I got this saw from Missoula Montana last year for 150 dollars, it didn't have any spark. It is a 7.0 cubic inch 114 cc saw with a 27" roller nose bar. A few weeks back I decided to restore it. The piston and bore were like new, but I replaced the points, condenser, and coil and bought complete new gasket set, the carb had been gone through before I got it so that was good, but the tank had a deep dent in the cover and I bought a new cover, put in new tygon lines and new fuel filter then painted and applied new decals. It has two coats of synthetic alkyd enamel with a poly converter hardener and a synthetic reducer, The saw was clear coated with a two part gloss epoxy. Decals were courtesy of Sugar Creek Supply, the only place to buy decals. I have to paint the muffler shield and install it, the old one was broken and miraculously I found another one intact just last week.
