  1. What about those at the bottom? Half a job.
  2. Carol has an artistic streak and wants a new studio. So the greenhouse had to go. Over the last few days, I've dismantled the greenhouse and transported it to eldest daughters. Son-in-law wanted it and was a great help. Conspicuous by his absence. The breeze block base the greenhouse was fastened too, also removed. Hollow blocks are quite heavy, especially when someone has filled the hollows with concrete. These have been taken elsewhere with the C-81 and Saxon trailer. Site levelled up and some 2-1/2 x 24 x 30 inch slabs that have been hiding behind the workshop, placed and levelled at the four corners. More slabs have to be laid yet for the floor supports and that's the next step. The new studio is to be 8ft x 12ft and construction of the will start sometime later in the week. .
  3. Some new neighbours moved in across the lane today.
  4. They're a device on some tractors for building up your arm muscles. Left one anyway.
  5. You've not split them. You'd get more in if you did.
  6. Neat mod, Chris. May do that myself. How's the lift lever position when down?
  7. Eventually got the flywheel off this morning. Said the right words and held my mouth in the right position and it surrendered to my nice new puller. (Set of 4 from Machine Mart. £28.) Points look ok, but I'm not sure what the gap should be. 12thou? Anyone? Took the tank off along with the carb. Air filter disintegrated to lumps and dust. The screws holding carb to tank are being awkward now. The inside of the tank held rust and dust. Though it seems solid enough. That's it so far.
  8. For an event that's only four years old, that's fantastic Kev. Well done to all you organisers.
  9. Yes! Gutbrod. Look at 4x4forks add for his.
  10. Looking a real menacing beast. Just the job for going to church Sunday morning.
  11. Don't know what they're off, but the oval centre is intriguing.
  12. Thanks for that Richard. I'll give it a try when I get chance. Rather busy doing the base for Carols new studio.
  13. I think that would be a good buy for someone. And before anyone says owt. NOT ME!
  14. Good to meet you as well, Richard. So far I have found out the Billy Goat is 1978 or a little earlier. Model KD50. Serial 24539. B&S 5hp engine. The following numbers are on the side of the cowl. Only ones I can find. 130902 0456-01 76042006
  15. That's what I was going to do. No thread holes, Mark.
  16. I'd like to see them plough a stubble field at that speed.
  17. Yes, but there's a set of points under the flywheel. Have to go into Carlisle today, so I'll get a set of pullers. I could do with some anyway.
  18. Not a method I'm keen on, Harry. I've known flywheels get damaged that way.
  19. This Billy Goat is something else I brought back from down south. Although I've rotated the first photo the right way up, it keeps coming up like this. The engine is a 5hp B&S. Had a bit of a look at it today. Compression is good but no spark. Plug ok. Tried it on one of the tractors. Pull start freed up and working. Also height adjustment now working. I need a puller for the flywheel to get at the points. Till then I'll remove and clean tank and carb. Once I get it running and see how it performs, then I'll decide what I'm going to do with it. I doubt it'll stay as is.
  20. I'm waiting for the right time. If there is such a thing.
  21. It would seem that when I journey darn sarf, I come back with more than I go with. Last year it was an engine. This year, along with some other bits and bobs, I got this homemade scarifier. Also this Wheel Horse side discharge deck. There's one or two holes in the deck that shouldn't be, but reasonably solid. Spindles are free with no noticeable play. It will be stripped and rebuilt sometime over the winter. Not forgetting the Billy Goat. I should have taken a photo, but it's now tucked away awaiting my attention.
  22. A fine collection you have.
