  1. Spoke to Chris this morning. He can now walk without an aid and go up stairs. Has to have a nurse with him though, as his balance is not perfect. Hospital has a cafe up stairs and serves tea and cake. They are going to put a seat in his shower at home with hand rails. Also a rail going up the stairs. So he may be home sooner than thought.
  2. All the best for yesterday, Ian.

  11. Yes Dave. 1st of May. I'll put details in a fresh post.
  12. Oh yes! Chris likes his tea. On the hour, every hour.
  13. Spoke to Chris this afternoon. Sounds in good spirits. He's had speech therapy and is talking better. Still got that strange southern accent though. He can now bend his left arm more and tough his face. Starts physio' tomorrow. Long way to go though but he's in the best of places at Heywood Heath. His friend Steve drives Pam to see him and his son Steve calls in to see her after work. So both are being looked after.
  14. Been dog proofing the garden yesterday while we still have some garden left. Erected a fence between it and the yard. I did have some help from Nell, the pup. Rather large pup now. Driving the posts in was fun. When I swung the mallet, she'd jump up and try to grab it and push the post with her paws. The hole for the post by the house proved a bit of a problem. A piece of the original drive was still there under the soil. Four inch thick. That I attacked with a large chisel and lump hammer. After about an hour and a half and an aching wrist, I managed to get through concrete and the post in. Then fitted the last panels. Not bad for an afternoons work. I only collected the posts in the morning. Fitted the gate first thing this morning.
  15. Thanks for that that, Paul. Tell him Steve and the lads in the States are thinking of him.
  16. Welcome to MoM, Jim. Nice varied collection there. Tell us more, please. BTW Whereabouts are you located?
  17. I've known holes like that be brazed. A fabrication shop may do it for you. BUT! And it's a big but, wash the tank out thoroughly with water then run compressed air through it for a while. JB weld could also be an option.
  18. Nice van. Fully equipped for over nighting etc I assume?
  19. Nice! At least it's not green.
  20. I'm very sorry to hear that, Paul. Convey my good wishes to him and Pam. Hope all turns out OK. Been meaning to phone him as not spoken to him since before Christmas. Keep us updated please, Paul.
  21. For road use we have to get them registered, road taxed and insured. Same as any vehicle that is used on the road. Can be a headache if it is an old vehicle that has never been registered.
  22. That should come up well considering what you've already done with your other.
