  1. Another neat job and a good idea with the wheel studs/nuts.
  2. There are ditches Chris. Full of water. The water has risen and the grass either side is now under water. It's up to the second stone in the photo. The lanes flooded but passable all the way to the main road. Supposed to rain all night. Oh! We had a power cut from 4-30 to 6-15. I expect more.
  3. Somehow I don't think I'd be wanting to do a strip down.
  4. I see the bottles of beer have gone.
  5. Something like that would do. But Chris's workshop walls are not thick enough. Pillar mounted and bolted to the floor might do.
  6. Try and get anything from our local smithy is like trying to get blood from a stone. I go to a steel stockist in Carlisle. They'll sell you off cuts and very cheap.
  7. An engine hoist would normally be ideal, but you a tied for space. Gantry over your table lift would be best I think.
  8. I had a Westwood some years ago. Looking at the photo's I would guess also a Gazelle. B&S 11hp but no deck. I got it for the grandsons to ride when they visited. It was pretty rough but ran well. Eventually I decided to do it up a bit. Alas I found that both drive side bearings were gone. Literally! It had been run that long, previously to me obtaining it, that the drive shafts had worn the casings that much as to be beyond repair. So it went for scrap except for the engine. Recently sold. So keep a check on those bearings.
  9. All the Best, Doug. Have a good day and I hope your back is improving.
  10. Interesting article, Jonathan. Keep it on one side for when I'm next up, please. BTW. I like the last photo of you on the Ransome.
  11. Well done. Now on with the next on the list. Got to make room you know.
  12. James hasn't been on since May, Jonathan. I thought I had his phone number. Some one on here may have it and may be kind enough to pass it on to you by P.M.
  13. All the best Birthday Boy. Have a good one.
  14. I take it that's your Howard Clifford, Dave?
  15. Cracking job there, Nigel.
  16. How'd you get on with these, Paul. Just happens I've to go and see a couple of Wheel Horses. One sounds as if it is an R26. Got a B&S engine though. Non runner I think.
