  1. Remind me not to buy anything Hotpoint. Disgusting the way that companies can keep geting away with such underhand actions.
  2. Nice job with the box. May I suggest a couple of brass handles. One each side for lifting?
  3. Angus is right. Bit of a senior moment with my reply.
  4. Could be. Try the old carb or the jet out of it if possible.
  5. Got a bit more done today. Getting the lift right was a bit of a problem. When down, the downward curve of the lift arm fouled the guard and top pulley. Eventually I decided to disconnect the lift chain and cable tie the arm up as far as I could. I could have cut the downward curve off, but I don't want to alter things if I can help it. With the arm up I fastened the lift chain to the guard/frame. Next I had to have someway of holding the cutter bar in the vertical position. Had a root round and came up with this. Finally a couple of shots of it down and up. Next thing to do is make a handle to lift the cutter bar. Again I don't want to alter the original handle. Get that done and I can work out a belt length.
  6. Last week or maybe the week before, I finally got around to getting some pulleys, bearings and 20mm bar for the mule drive. So today I got stuck in and got a bit done. First I made a couple of pins. And yes there's only one in the photo. These go here. One each side and QD. Next I made a couple of new mounting plates. After that there was much putting on, taking off, head scratching, fiddling and general phaffing about. But finally I had this....... apologies for the poor photo. This..... This.... And this Tomorrow I may get more done.
  7. I was thinking tapered shaft and keyway.
  8. I'm sorry I can't be of any help. The coil I fitted to the Billy Goats 5hp Briggs is different to the one you have. Only wire that comes from it is the plug lead.
  9. Up at the farm is a two wheeled, smithy built trailer. The axle came from a Scammel Iron Horse trailer. The little three wheeled artic used by British Rail. We require two left hand threaded wheel nuts. Also a 8.25 x 10 14ply tyre. If a wheel comes with the tyre that's fine.
  10. I fitted one of these coils to my Billy Goat a while back. Can't remember the wiring, but I'll try and remember to look tonight when I get home.
  11. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear Chris. Happy Birthday to you. All the Best, Old Chap.
  12. Has Pam looking for Lily under that lot?
  13. The wheels on my rear discharge cutter deck where well worn. The plastic type with a rubber tyre. The Showman in his kindness, gave me some more wheels off another type of deck. These were of a larger diameter but fitted and have been in use. The only problem is the setting of the deck for mowing. I couldn't get it just right. At the back of my bench the old wheels have been residing for some time. So as it was cooler in the workshop, I decided to do something with them. First I bored them out on the lathe to 1" bore. Next two inserts made from this piece of self lubricating nylon that's been lying about. A good push fit with a drop or two of super glue. And refitted.
  14. Been hot oop North as well. Humid with it. Coolest place was in the workshop. Just! The rain and thunder missed us though.
  15. That looks nice but is it not hard work keeping it upright when working?
  16. Aye! I'll mount it on the front of the Disco.
  17. Saw's awaiting Carols artistic touch. I've done my bit. I agree Chris. Could have done with being a foot or two bigger in diameter.
  18. Thanks for that, Angus. I'll look into it.
  19. I was wondering about valves. A look at job for the future.
