  1. a fellow would have to get that one, just for the cool factor of the fuel tank. nice save,
  2. Wow, I would have thought it a required British thing to be able to plow. You guys always kick butt in the world matches. I have a little over a 1/3 acre here at the house, that is the test ground and garden. If I want to plow a bigger field I have to drive 12mls down to the farm, where I can do any part of the 500 acres at that site. I usually goes there and plow up an acre, with the walkers. You haven't lived until you have plow a straight 1/2 ml forrow, and then have to turn around and come back. The ground down there is a heavier clay that mine, so I works you a lot more. I can plow here until about July, then the dirt turns more into concrete, than plowable stuff. Couple yrs ago I drove down to KY(500mls) and plow against some riders, with my Mighty Man walker. We don't have any plow matches here, its mostly guys with bigger yard tractors, that just plow whole fields. Not sure they would do very good if they had to plow with a set of rules. Oh and im sorry I spelled it wrong, as I know it should be "plough".
  3. As a tradition here, on the 1st day of spring, I usually try to plow. I fired up one of my DB tractors and went out and did 5 round. I think it went pretty well. Didn't have time to do more today, but theres always the weekend, and I have several other walkers to test plow with. Enjoy the pic's.
  4. looks like you boys had a great time and had a fine line up of machines presented.
  5. looks like a heavy duty apple peeler.
  6. Looks like a new one!! good luck at the show with this unit.
  7. lokks like a unit made to blow a dry power, I think they called it a duster.
  8. Neil, matt lives over 1000mls south of me, he wouldn't know what to do with a day that was 14* below zero, like my Monday morning was. We've had over 40 days of below zero nights here and some days haven't been out of the singles. No tractor work is going on here, due to the cost of heating the sheds.
  9. yes excellent job, cant wait to see the whole finished machine.
  10. I wondered if you had given any thought to having a sleeve installed in the original engine and putting it back to the standard bore? This would solve the problem of fitting up another engine.
  11. fantastic collection, you guy have all the luck with a museum like that and a pretty good man as a host.
  12. WOW, I cant even get one over here and you got them rustin away in the hedge row there.
  13. is that an iron horse sitting there rusting away in the back ground??
  14. real nice to see someone plowing with horses. Cool plow also. Thanks for posting it here.
  15. yes thanks for taking that time to post the attachments. Tractors of this type are not found over here, more on the smaller scale. My Handiman Tractors would be considered of the largest one found in the states. the steel wheels are 32" tall and other than a couple of items, most things attach to the frame of the tool carriage. You got choices of seedrs, disc, cultivating steels, etc.
  16. I see these Iron Horse machine in plowing match photo's all the time. I guess I wonder what other attachments were built for the line, and if there are any pictures of items like a disc, mower or cultivating setups?
  17. I don't really go for bikes normally, but that project rocks.
  18. "confident" would not be anything lacking on your part, sir. If fact I believe we are all confident that you will dazzle us with another spectacular machine soon.
  19. yes im curious as to what you mean?? Briggs engines sold over there are based on the bore and stoke to make the hp. There might have been a time back in the 30's where the rpm's was increase to get more power, but not in anything im aware of since then.
  20. I really enjoy seeing those big 2 wheeled tractors working.
  21. what vintage is this machine? I like the small round fuel tank.
  22. yes Paul that fellow in the first picture holds his tea cup a little odd, I'd be watching him. Good to know the showman is ok??. Havent seen any posts of his adventurous machines lately.

    Piece of Formica

not sure about him, but here I use it for making patterns of metal parts, that I may need to reproduce again. after I drill a small hole and hang them up on the wall until the next time I need it.
  24. We have a saying here, "I have a gun and a shovel, you won't be missed". We seldom have that kind of trouble in my rural area, as the thought of getting shot at keeps most of the low life's away and looking for easier picken's.
