Lauber1 reacted to Ian in Cut and Shut welding trolley
Evening all, as you know I've now moved from Arc welding to Mig welding, and very happy with the Mig I am
The trouble is with the welder plonked on the remains of an office chair and the gas bottle tied to my blasting cabinet so I stood less chance of knocking it over it didn't make my welder very portable or even easy to shift around the shack!

So what I need is something with wheels to move it all around on...

    Enter a tube frame..
This frame used to hold a Kohler powered hydraulic road drill unit..
Nigel has the hydraulic side, Chris picked up the engine today, which leaves me with the frame, all be it a bit on the wide side..

Not a problem.. Out came the grinder as 8 1/2 inches was chopped out..

    Chopped

As I didn't have any of the right size tube to sleeve it with, I had to use some bits of U shaped steel and lot's of G clamps etc to hold it together for welding..

Have a strange ghostly photo of welding in action..

I don't think the end of this axle is going anywhere

It was while sitting with a coffee looking at the narrowed trolley thingy that I thought it might be a bit unstable with the wheels not that far apart!

Some more cutting and welding later not only were the wheels outboard but I'd also moved them back a few inches..

And that Ladies and Gents is as far I I've got with the welding trolley today..
    More to come tomorrow..

    Hi all,
I purchased a barford atom the other week and collected today and got talking to the guy as you do and ended up coming home with two barford atoms, spare engine and loads of attachments!

    A nice full trailer load!

There is a tool bar with loads of attachments such as cultivating tines, potato ridgers and lifters etc and also an adjustable plough which are getting harder and harder to come by! The little mechanical gardener I bought previously.
I would like to try and take one of them to a rally and test them out or just show them as they are very original pieces and I am very happy with them, one of them even has a belt guard!

    Hi All,
Picked this up today from yes you've guessed it. That same old barn.
I have looked on the auction site and found one which says it is a Horace Fuller Ltd of Horsham, Sussex about a hour and a half away from me.
Does anyone have any info on it ?

    Crawley Ride On Tractor

    Wheel horse commando 7

    Mini LandRover

Trike, with a robin reliant engine

Two ford tractors, like brand new fully restored.

    Farmalls

Massy harris, hadn't seen one of these until now,

Another little tractor I liked was this allis chambers, it was mid size, smaller then a grey furgy but bigger then a wheel horse, not sure on the model? I'd like to find out though....

    Strange rover.

These are not a kit, nor is it home built... They are factory made in Japan, a few have been imported into the UK built on a little Suzuki van.

I think he got a bit lost.... Came through the camping field.

Here's a 2 for you land rover boys...

There was also a wedding, the bride arrived by steam, once pronounced husband and wife, all the steamers blew there whistles was rather loud... Haha!

If you're looking for an excellent fun and action packed day out for all the family, you'll love the Great Dorset Steam Fair. Traditionally this English fair is held at the village of Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford Forum in the heart of the beautiful Dorset countryside.Further directions are superfluous. Just find the village on the map, head in that direction and follow everyone else to the showFrom small beginnings this annual event has become one of the favoured places for those interested in how people lived, worked and played in bygone years and it is now widely recognised as "THE" National Heritage Show as well as being regarded as the leading show of its type in the World. The spectacle covers an enormous showground, at over 600 acres being one of Europe's largest outdoor event locations. 2014 will see the show in its 46th year. The Great Dorset Steam Fair is a typically British event offering a unique blend of nostalgia and entertainment. Come and soak up the special festival atmosphere whether as a day visitor or taking in the full five days by camping on site. There is no other event like it anywhere in the world which is why over 200,000 visitors attend each year both from the UK and from all over the World!

Visit this colourful show once and you'll be hooked for life. You must go !

These pic`s are of some kind of weeder/cultivator a farmer friend gave me. I have no idea who made it,The bar across the legs has been welded on at some time. I have some more legs somewhere. With the bar off the width is adjustable. It looks like it`s meant for a walk behind of some description.

I did have the C-81 and C-125 entered, but as I did not get home from the farm till 11pm Sat night, I couldn't get them there for Sat and Sunday morning I was somewhat jaded. Grandson number 3 and I did pay a visit though. The days were hot and plenty of visitors hit town and the rally.
Remembered my camera so a few photo's to follow. The motorcyclists were from The Isle of Man and they put on a fantastic comedy performance. Most of the bikes were Honda 50's.
