Yes once they are both restored it would be nice to meet up a show, they came from the same owner, and can be reunited for the weekend once given a good new life

Hello Philip That's a nice trailer you've got there! I'm lead to believe I used that trailer that you just brought a few weeks back to move a cart load of stuff from one place to another, If its the same one, you're lucky.. I was going to buy that one as well on my return visit , but we got half way there and the clutch went on the van so we had to switch vehicles and take the car so sadly I couldn't fit it in, however I could be wrong and it may be a complete different cart! but I don't think so. as for the carts them self, I think they are exactly the same, just like you say yours has the pneumatic tyres, which is probably the original just mines been fitted with solid wheels and tyres. and as for the tipping leaver that will look different as mine has the arm snapped off, so I'd go so far as to say there are the same cart, funny you should say that mine has a little green underneath, but mainly an olive sort of colour!

Thanks Chris! So today I went about sanding it down and painting it. I was going to add a skim of filler all over it to get rid of the pitting! but I thought if I do that it may look like its made with new iron, I thought if I leave it a little pitted and give it a few coats of paint, its rough age will still be there, so anyway the frame is now all painted up with a few coats of gloss black, just waiting to put some good quality grained wood into it and varnish it up.

Wow! It's not until I've seen it in front of that tractor that I've realised the size of it! will look good behind your tractor Paul!

Is it the flywheel you cant get off or the nut? If its the flywheel use a puller, im not sure there is any other way without causing damage,a puller works everytime for me.

How many points is that guess worth It's actually a good idea boys! Never thought of that or seen it until now.

Me being slightly slow here, I'll blame it on still being early but what is the purpose of the bungee cords and rope round the seats to the steering wheels? Is it to stop people getting on the exhibit? Or am I way off the point......

Well today I woke up and looked out the window, the weather was lovely and the sun was shining bright so I thought to my self, what to do today... I got the transport box out of the shed that I've just recently picked up, I've been told it's a Mayfield Tractor Transport Box. I started looking at it from all different and weird angles and sat and thought about it, then something popped into my head, I know its not done professionally nor is it an official cub cadet attachment, but it gave me something to do and in fact I'm really pleased with the outcome, I am hoping to sand it all down,.... might take a while, the weather has got to it pretty bad, but once its sanded down, I hope to paint the metal frame up in a nice gloss black, and then get some good quality grained wood and varnish that for the bottom, back and sides, I know normally these would have tin sides, but It will never be worked. I got a picture before I started and a fair few from when It's finished, but once I got stuck in I forgot to pick the camera up and take some photos of the process but here is some of it now lifting etc, hopefully within the week it may be all painted up. Yesterday just trying it out for looks! Refitting the lift arm. It's now lifting

James, do you have a spark plug tester thingy, someone did add a picture of one earlier in this topic, it doesn't really tell you if the plug it's self is sparking, but it let's you know if the coil is working, it may be that the leads have come disconnected or somethings touching behind the flywheel, if you take the flywheel off, you will see the coil along with the points and a condenser, before you go messing about with the taking the head off, just in case you snap head bolts etc, plus you'll end up needing a new head gasket, I'd suggest taking the flywheel off and looking to make sure everything's still all attached as it should be, the points may need adjusting as it may be sparking at the wrong time. I've had machines that wouldn't run sometimes would run but not properly I adjusted the points and then they have been fine, The points open and close on like a lobe on the end of the shaft they spread open and then close again the gap between the points may need adjusting if these are out or need adjusting it may be sparking at the wrong time.

It's all this hot weather we're having, First bit of rain and i'll grow again! No it seems rather impossible when ever little Tyler is out in the garden I cant seem to get a picture without him in the shot somewhere Thanks Tom

Indeed you do Tom, I just couldn't resist going back for the second time..

The other day I picked up a few new toys to play with, both need a little work to be how I picture them, I picked up a Cultivator that needs painting up, not sure what machine to sit it behind yet... I've freed all the nuts off and the tines all move up and down the wheel is moving up and down and also turns freely, just needs a coat of paint to match what ever machine I stick it behind. I also picked up a nice front weight box for my wheel horse, not too sure what to fill it with yet, but I am in the middle of making a bracket for it to sit on!.. I picked up lots of bits and pieces to hopefully make the stack exhaust I was going on about. A nice round small baffle box with some great pipe! Finally the thing I'm most pleased about.... Now this is different, I'm not sure what it's exact use is nor am I sure what it come from, it could be a front bucket type thing or anything, well I'm not too fussed on what it was, because I know what I'm going to try make it be ... You see these 'Transport Boxes' on the back of yard tractors etc, I've seen a few around the shows on grey fergies and the likes, but I've never seen one on this scale, so I am going to give it a go and try make this into a small transport box yet again don't know what machine to put it behind but I'm sure ill work that out at a later date, my plans with it are to attach it somehow..... It's not heavy at all really so this shouldn't be an issue, and then I'm hoping to paint the frame and stick some varnished wood into the sides and floor.

Not at all Norm. I read all that and took it in, I even started checking about for materials, but adapting my plough has to be done first ready for a few shows, I may come back to this idea soon
