Hello all,
I found an old phone memory card from 2012 and upon searching through it I found the pictures of when I first picked up the wheel horse raider 10 and once I had cleaned it up here is a few comparisons to how it looked, to how it looks now.
Bringing it home, I'm surprised the trailer even took the weight! pleased to say that trailers gone now!
finally home, and yes... it started to rain!
removed the cutting deck
making the shed opening wider and backing it into the shed next to the old racer i had.
after a good old wash
how it is now..

Happy Birthday mate, hope you have a good one!
-
Surely not another lawn ranger?
-
Wow another two!! how many horse's you got now? good luck with them, lets see some pictures soon!
-
is that a nope nope or a nope
-
sounds good I look forward to seeing the progress, You're correct they all seem to have replacement engines, I just sold one to James here on my old machine and when I purchased it originally it had a Clinton replacement engine on it, however when I sold it to him I had put the correct engine back onto the machine, hes gained some good progress with it, hope to see all these machine at some shows!
as for a dozer blade for this machine... I'm thinking you'll have just as much luck as finding hens teeth, as the ones for other tractors wont fit I shouldn't of thought anyway.. maybe you could make one?

Nice looking machine mate, i take it your plans are to do a full restoration? I have been told IH red is what to use, you can buy it in liter tins from that auction site, I've never brought the IH red but i have brought the IH white which looks lovely on the wheels. I have purchased 2 tins of IH white from the same seller on the auction site that sells the IH red as well, and considering the prices of paint these days its pretty cheap. I haven't had any problems with it, good quality paint, the IH white is what i used on my wheels of my raider 10 and my cubcadet i also sprayed the cubcadet bonnet with the same IH white.
As for your implements... I have the original manuals here for a 1968 lawn ranger and it says...

-
nice lump of blue tac, and stick it in the middle of your dash on your car
-
Nice Score! well done, your never ending collection grows again you must be short of room, I was just thinking...i bet if that cub cadet was to go you'd have enough room to store all these parts
-
How is it that you boys manage to do this sort of camera 'magic'/ 'editing' is it photoshop you use? or....
I've tried to play about with it but cant seem to make much progress, Id like to make a few fun/silly pictures of my tractors I've seen a few good ones now between you guys!, what programs do you use?
-
Chris, I know selling them can be quite hard sometimes, so you don't have to sell them, why not try giving them away instead .... to me...
-
well my oh my if only i knew it used to be yours..... the current owner lives in wales, he might not be the one who brought it from you, he may of got it from the person you sold it too, but this young fella lives in wales hes only my age. his name is Lewis Vaughan me and him talk regularly hes got a lovely place in wales and has many machines..
Neil if you're interested i have some pictures of the restoration stages hes put it through, and what it looked like when he got it and how it looks now, he told me... " this is my wheel horse rj-58 one of the original 5 wheel horses brought over in 1958 as demo models"
hes now restored it and its looking in tip top shape, he also owns a wheel horse comando 8, roper RT-10, huffy 5hp, wheelhorse c121 with lots of attachments, a bolens ride a matic and many more,
like i said in the start all these times of talking about the rj too him and i never knew it used to be yours...

It doesn't matter what it looks like just make sure you can get it to the small holders show CC round up
I'm just out at the moment and on my tablet, I shall be home and will have a PM sent to you about 8:30PM tonight, I can't remember what I've got now, fair bit of info, stuff on dating as well, have you got the serial/model number from the gearbox housing? It's stamped in the castings of the gearbox? On the side sort of between the wheel and the foot plate,
-
I can.... ill top that offer by giving him a live Christmas tree
-
With this one the numbers will be a bit better at the CC line up at the small holders show,
These cub cadet originals are rather rare however there seem to be a few more popping up now, I know of 4-5ish but I'm sure there's more about,
I have quite a few hours of research on these I will PM you ASAP. And share...
You going to keep as is and just a bit of oil rag? Or do a full restoration like mine?
-
Its sister is here in my shed, feel free to let them reunite at anytime there is room here for her
-
Oh dear... does Pam know yet? or are they still in the van?
How many is that now? Good to see another lawn ranger, don't you already have one of these rangers in bits?!?!?
looks like you'll be running out of room soon, so don't be afraid to send that Cub Cadet you've got over my way to free up some room! after all you don't need that little bit of yellow with all that red.
-
looking good, now then, you best get booked into some shows!!
-
I cant find any markings on the plastics or frame? so not sure if its a Chinese body or what but the engine is stamped in the metal Yamaha 150cc
I dont think i will modify it in anyway will just be a little bit of fun as it is i think, just a bit of work on the cosmetics
-
Hello guys,
I picked this up Tuesday night for a grand price of zero pounds and zero pence, my uncle has had this for around 5 years now, and stopped using it a few years back,
guess what..... it's red... but now I know what you are thinking... but its not another wheel horse or a tractor in fact its not really vintage or an old machine, but its got an engine and 4 wheels so I'm interested.
It turns over and sparks,.. however the fuel system is filled with gunk and all different odd things, I'm going to get it running, buy some new fairings/plastics, maybe a few decals, and then just have it as an every now and then toy, something for a bit of fun of a muddy day, or if we ever get it... a snowy day...
-
hmmm is it only me who can't see the pictures?
-
looking good James, its coming along nicely,
Good to see you'll be helping out with the advertising of MoM i have one of them decals on my trailers, and tractors that i show
