  1. Well that's a bonus then James, try one, if still no joy, try the other let us know how you get on.
  2. I see Mr. Showmans van is always a point of interest whats the name of the blue 'thingy' in picture 2 of the last post? Looks interesting! Good photos mate
  3. Very nice, good solid rims
  4. James, do you have a spark plug tester thingy, someone did add a picture of one earlier in this topic, it doesn't really tell you if the plug it's self is sparking, but it let's you know if the coil is working, it may be that the leads have come disconnected or somethings touching behind the flywheel, if you take the flywheel off, you will see the coil along with the points and a condenser, before you go messing about with the taking the head off, just in case you snap head bolts etc, plus you'll end up needing a new head gasket, I'd suggest taking the flywheel off and looking to make sure everything's still all attached as it should be, the points may need adjusting as it may be sparking at the wrong time. I've had machines that wouldn't run sometimes would run but not properly I adjusted the points and then they have been fine, The points open and close on like a lobe on the end of the shaft they spread open and then close again the gap between the points may need adjusting if these are out or need adjusting it may be sparking at the wrong time.
  5. It's all this hot weather we're having, First bit of rain and i'll grow again! No it seems rather impossible when ever little Tyler is out in the garden I cant seem to get a picture without him in the shot somewhere Thanks Tom
  6. Indeed you do Tom, I just couldn't resist going back for the second time..
  7. The other day I picked up a few new toys to play with, both need a little work to be how I picture them, I picked up a Cultivator that needs painting up, not sure what machine to sit it behind yet... I've freed all the nuts off and the tines all move up and down the wheel is moving up and down and also turns freely, just needs a coat of paint to match what ever machine I stick it behind. I also picked up a nice front weight box for my wheel horse, not too sure what to fill it with yet, but I am in the middle of making a bracket for it to sit on!.. I picked up lots of bits and pieces to hopefully make the stack exhaust I was going on about. A nice round small baffle box with some great pipe! Finally the thing I'm most pleased about.... Now this is different, I'm not sure what it's exact use is nor am I sure what it come from, it could be a front bucket type thing or anything, well I'm not too fussed on what it was, because I know what I'm going to try make it be ... You see these 'Transport Boxes' on the back of yard tractors etc, I've seen a few around the shows on grey fergies and the likes, but I've never seen one on this scale, so I am going to give it a go and try make this into a small transport box yet again don't know what machine to put it behind but I'm sure ill work that out at a later date, my plans with it are to attach it somehow..... It's not heavy at all really so this shouldn't be an issue, and then I'm hoping to paint the frame and stick some varnished wood into the sides and floor.
  8. Thank you Ian for that great post! Pictures where good also I have managed to get my tyres on, not too much hassle getting the old ones off but putting these new ones on was a bit of a wrestle! but they are on now,
  9. Not at all Norm. I read all that and took it in, I even started checking about for materials, but adapting my plough has to be done first ready for a few shows, I may come back to this idea soon
  10. Thank you for that offer Nigel, but I've changed my mind, im going to keep the standard exhaust on it,
  11. It's a nice looking machine, if it's not too expensive go for it mate
  12. Hello all, Have any of you ever built a stack exhaust for a garden tractor of some kind? If so do you have a thread on it somewhere? Or does anyone have any links to somone building one, I'd like to see how to go around it, I know in my head, just want to get a few ideas
  13. I didn't have them then, I've only just ordered them, Cheers anyway
  14. Hello Guys, I'm finally buying some new front tyres for my horse, I treated her to some new rear tyres the other year, now the time has come to fit it with some fronts! I didn't have a problem last year with fitting the rears, as they fit on a tyre machine..just... however now coming to the fronts they wont fit on a tyre machine, do any of you local boys know somewhere that can change them? or tips on how to, I might try borrow some tyre leavers and give it a go...
  15. Great minds think alike that was the plan, along with a nice new shiny split pin and a few decals sides, front and back
  16. Koen kindly done me an edit in all cream, and thats what its going! indeed, all cream, with a nice bit of shine on the back rubber, with a few IH and cubcadet decals
  17. all that hard work of you smuggling them in, you've let slide by a silly mistake
  18. Thank you Koen. And Mark thank you thats amazing for 5 minutes, that sort of progress would take me hours! I still cant decide I think the yellow would be a little too much for the body! I also dont think yellow would look right on the wheels, so I may go for the propper look all cream with IH decals
  19. Hello all, This is a long shot I know, but is anyone out there skilled enough to do me a huge favour? I cant quite decide if I should paint the cart for my Cubcadet yellow body with cream wheels and black rubber, or a cream body with yellow wheels and black rubber? I was wondering if any of you are skilled enough to take this photo and change the colour of the cart for me so I could see what it looks like? if not I guess ill have to paint it one colour each side
  20. I think that's a Bedford J Type Pick Up! the trucks and lorrys back then had so much more style and characteristics then the boring ones of today that all share the same running gear! There was a few there
  21. This weekend just gone I was exhibiting at Laughton Cuckoo Fayre, Over all it was a good weekend away, the weather was pretty good all 3 days, coming back with sun burn was a good sign of this this show isn't very big but it's a fair size on some, lots of arena events over the 3 days the show is active some night time entertainment in the main bar and the small bar by the lake, a fun fair, Jay Millers circus which is free entry once you've paid to get into the show, the show it's self isn't very expensive either something like £9 an adult, but £1 off with a one of there leaflets, there is a bit here for everyone really, a great auto jumble full of odds and sods, always a good bargain to be found here, models, crafts and food, collections/awning displays, bicycles, motorcycles, tractors, horticultural, steam, commercial, stationary engines classic cars and many many more exhibits, here is only a fraction of the photos of whats there. but it's something for you all to look at, I like it here, its quite laid back, there is a 4x4 mud play pen, a working field for you to go and have a play, steam working, and all sorts, If you haven't been before I'd recommend coming along for the day next year, or even exhibiting! the horticultural section does need to grow a little....... they also hold a show at the same showground in September the one in May personally is the better of the two, but that's just my opinion, anyway that's enough, here is what you really want! always makes a nice picture, the Native Americans Village by the pond Tyler having a good old look something I hadn't seen before Now this!..... What a Van! not one bit wasn't customized, even the dip stick etc, everything was chrome and custom, ratchet spanners as handles! WOW! more to follow!
  22. Hello All, Last September when I was over one of my shows I picked up an old garden trolley that was slightly worn down it had no sides or anything of the sorts, I picked it up for a bargain price, and over the winter I've slowly been tinkering away with it getting it done a little by little ready for the first show of the year! which was the weekend just gone, I'll be uploading photos of that soon!.... I built the cart for my little nephew Tyler, so he can be pulled around the showgrounds or towed, and when hes old enough he can use it behind his own tractor hopefully! anyway here is the pictures of the stages, from start to finish! the last photo is him being pulled about like a king around the showground, its alright for some I guess!...
  23. My K-181 is electric start yes, but not sure if they also did recoil starters? someone with a bit more knowledge will have to tell you that, but i can reassure you that the K-181 will fit without any modifications. here is a few pics of the k-181 on it and the mounting holes when i removed it for spraying.
