I believe the one on eBay was red.

I have some of the 0.006” Vegetable paper gasket material from this link. It might work for the thin induction gasket but you have to cut them.

Yes, I would be very interested in a verticle tank. PM what you’re thinking.

A very very special THANK YOU to JustO&R! With his help the engine now looks as good as new! Definitely makes it a really nice and complete original engine again. Can’t thank you enough!

I think this is the piston...

Man, that’s a bummer with the knife scratches. Amazing how something like that survives so long only to be messed up in a split second from carelessness. Sorry to hear about the HP items, that’s incredibly frustrating!
-
I’m anxious to get it messy and start working on some engines!
David - I feel your pain, I’ve had a few small parts bounce off and disappear... it’s amazing sometimes how things go off into oblivion.
-
That’s for sure. A couple tanks came up a few months back, including a vertical one and I hesitated and have been kicking myself ever since.
-
Just saw it too and the seller confirmed it is a second one.
-
Yep, you’re probably right about that- it’s probably just as risky to have them take things apart. This one was packaged with bubble wrap but clearly the shipping carrier must have tossed it across the shop or threw it into the delivery truck slamming it against a wall or floor. The dents in the tank match the outer profile of the recoil housing so it must have slammed pretty hard somewhere along the way. It must have flexed the mounting bracket by almost 1/2” for it to make contact with the housing. Irritating

Just now starting to get things unpacked and set up in the project room. Starting with a fresh work bench... won’t stay pretty for long!
-
From now on I’m going to specifically request the sellers to remove the gas tanks, air cleaners and exhausts from these engines before shipping. I thought about it after it was already shipped.
-
Thanks JustO&R, I will PM you.
-
Well, the engine arrived this afternoon. It’s incredibly disappointing to receive what looks to be a brand new engine only for it to get damaged during shipment. The new tank was crushed, man that’s irritating!

Stumbled across this Mono Safari model chainsaw that has an O&R 20A engine.

Hi JustO&R - sorry about that. I thought you were giving us all a heads up about the saw being for sale. Are the photos of the yellow saw one of your upcoming projects? That one looks in nice condition. It’s cool that it also has the Mono tree sticker on the recoil housing. I can’t seem to find anyone that makes a reproduction decal in the smaller size, the only ones I’ve seen are 3.25” in diameter and would probably work for the chain cover.
I think it’s kind of odd too that they painted everything on some of these tools. I have a Pony Express bicycle engine that is also completely painted.

Great idea David, I likely have some good auto body shops here in Arizona
-
Got in touch with Revmix last night about it so hopefully it all works out.
-
Thank you! At first I thought it might be Wheelhorse red.
-
For th insulator cap would it be possible to wrap a little foil around it and then use heat shrink tubing to make a custom fit cap (then remove the foil of course)?
By the way, what brand/color of red paint do you use- that’s a pretty nice match to original O&R?
-
David,
Thanks for adding the link to the Unknown applications- these are great! It’s fun to see all the various tools and machines.

That Nobco Power Beam is too freak’n cool!
-
Yes, definitely cool to see how people put these little engines to use.
-
Ahhhh, that makes sense. At first I thought you pulled al the dents out somehow. That’s a really awesome job with the full and finish!
