The paint was very good, in some places it didn't want to go down when sandblasting. Overall, the 37-year-old condition was well preserved, perhaps thanks to the user.
I love these tractors, I use newer Countax on a daily basis, but the older Westwoods are great.
The whole consists of two parts. The first part is secured to the engine by a small screw, and the second part is screwed to the tractor by the muffler. Both are inserted one into the other and fastened with a clamp.
This can be easily removed.
I'm still trying to find out what model mine is. There is nothing on it apart from gazelle.
My other one is a gazelle w8 with the rear exhaust.
I did some googling last night and I read the Westwood orange is RAL2002 and the chassis colour is RAL7021. I'm not sure how true this is but having googled the paint codes they look similar.
Hi, in my topic ( Westwood W8 (1983) "Baby" - restoration) I've completed the information about colours. I have information about RAL numbers from Westwood (Ariens).
They had difficulty with 7021, because they were not sure. But in the end it's this number that matches the original.
So 2002 and 7021 are the current equivalents of colours from years of production.
Who knows what RAL number the early Westwoods like mine had?
Everyone writes "Westwood orange" but it's more red in the original, although I like orange more.
The rest is graphite, not black, and everybody writes - black.
What is it like with the original colors (RAL), anyone knows ?
Hi,
First of all, welcome all
I live in Poland and rebuild the Westwood "baby" gazelle W8 - 1983. I need stickers. I wrote an e-mail from restorationdecals.co.uk, but I don't have any feedback.
You don't know if the stickers are still available?
