Mate of mine whos local has a cub in his garden. Its old. does not have rear fenders & sprung seat if I remember
He did want to sell it but wanted a high price which I did not want to pay for a tractor which needs total restoration
It will still be there knowing him
Yes I like the weathered look about the old girl. Going to keep this one.
I have had a lot of issues with the engine when it gets hot. After alot of head scratching it turns out it was lacking compression.
So treated it to a new set of piston rings & valves My good friend Mark came down & we took the engine apart again with his valve seat cutter & we cut new seats & ground the new valves in at the weekend. It now runs better now & will tow the gangs tomorrow & find out.
You can get parts from the US
www.samsbolens.com
Have used Sam for parts for both of my tractors. It can take him days to reply as hes a busy man but will ship all over the world. You will get a import tax though which can sting a bit as I have found out
Its smaller than mine
I think bolens tractors are great machines & are built well. Most seem to get painted in different colours
I would have more but already own2 & lack of space etc I cant
Just go & buy it & have fun!!
Hi Andrew,
I have an 1886 Husky Tractor 18hp Hydrostatic drive. The biggest & Best
Built like a tank & will go on for ever now I have brought it back from the dead
Do you own a tractor??
Depends what parts your after?? As Neil says, they do have kohler engines, but not all models
Dam Neil I never saw that
Been looking for a saw bench to try & finish off my model F collection for years
If you ever want to sell it I will be on my way
Thats not good.
Can I ask why you left them out like that ?? Surely they would be stolen??
If you had them all under a tarp out of the weather then fair enough
Thats a lovely workshop to keep them in now
It was a good collection of machines on show & we seemed to avoid the rain through the day that was
We said we were not going to buy anything but ended up coming home with this bundle of fluff
Here you go then. Had a play today with them. Had to re ajust the cylinders. I will sharpen them up at some stage.
They are ok if you use them often before the grass gets too long or they clog up Once I got the tractor going it ran ok for the job. Just as I took these pics it chucked it down!!
