    My 54in Monster

It can only get better than it is Ian Each cylinder should have 90-100psi when cold. Mine have 40 & 50. Raising to 60psi when hot As the valves are not doing there thing correctly, I have hot gases going up the intake manifold thus causing carb problems Have placed an order for parts so have to wait before I do open heart on the engine
  9. Chris is not far from me. Surprised he sold you an engine. He likes to hang on to everything! Plenty of carb bits here & even a good piston, rings & con rod. Manifolds etc Some mag bits. All good 2nd hand Plenty of blade bits which I am going through Even got some new clutch control handles. How often do you need one of those!!

    Gang Mowers

Yes seen sets fetch silly money. This set was relisted due to a time waster who never picked them up. He was way up north & made no contact! I got them for £200 less than the 1st time they were sold I was happy with what I payed & got some spares also Cant wait to try them out. Previous owner used them to cut an air strip & towed them with his car

    Gang Mowers

I have been after a set of Ransomes Junior Gangs for a while now. Looking on that auction site, I found these not far from me Put a bid on & won thinking they were going to go for more than what I wanted to pay. Picked them up last night, ajusted the cylinders etc & delivered them to our field ready for use As the bolens 1886 is sick, I am going to get the HT20 out this week & sort & give it some work I am please with the condition of the gangs so should last a few more years

    My 54in Monster

Well, still having problems with the engine but have now worked out whats wrong with help from a Kohler Expert Even though it fires up well. Some issues with the carb were sorted & now runs for a bit longer The problem is serious lack of compression Done a leak down test & it leaks like a sieve. So engine is coming back out for a birthday, fitment of new rings & valves etc Keep you posted
