Excellent work, by adding the taller tires you allowed the tractor better ground clearance as well.

Just spent the weekend at Townings Farm. It's more a club working weekend with a 2 hour tractor run Saturday night with a BBQ when we got back.
I took the Raider 12 and the 800 with the disc's, plough and my tiller.
Got plenty of seat time and very happy with the tiller.
Bit disappointing with the amount of public attending but we all had a great time and the rock band played most of the day and I even had a ride in a model T ford.
heres a few photos for your enjoyment

Drive belt arrived this morning so I finished off the idler and fitted the belt.
Started the engine and engaged the pto and everything seems to work ok, will give it a good test at Townings over the weekend but so far looking good.
Thanks to Bearingboys for their help in supplying the belt, if it helps anyone with a tiller the belt is 1/2" x 140" A138 V 140391 and cost £17.60 with post and vat ( and its a Dunlop belt ).

Having a bit of spare time, I decided to modify my clevis hitch. When I fitted the 'Linack' motor to operate it I used a solid link, this meant at times, the discs or cultivator would lift the back wheels off the ground. Changing the solid link to a chain solved this, but I was not happy with it.
If I wanted to use the tow bar, especially with a tow ball, I had to take the hitch off.
The modification allows me to have a solid link, selectable  floating or not, and the hitch can be raised high enough to allow the ball hitch to be used without removing anything.
I also got around to fitting the 480 x 10 tri rib front wheels and tyres they compensate for the 7 x 12 rears and level the tractor.

Must clean up and paint the discs.

Sorry about the extra photos, I don't seem to be able to delete them.

With rural past times happening, I relised I didn't have any thing to take  , so I had this little tractor hanging about so I found an engine of the shelf for it and gave it a quick tidy up , it should be ready just foot plates and a few bits and bobs to do  I don't think I will be doing any ploughing with it though

Arrived Friday afternoon and just managed to set up camp before the rain started.
During the night we had heavy rain and strong winds and 2 stalls lost their gazebos, Saturday was fine until lunchtime then it all started again and it really chucked it down most of the night.
Sunday morning was bright and sunny but windy, loads of exhibitors turned up and we had a brilliant day, the ground dried up quickly and I managed to get out without a tow.
Heres a few photos for your enjoyment.

Thats the plan Norm, another 12 weeks to work on it yet

It wasn't too bad, its all fixed and primed now and looks good as new, plus its original

Haha, you say that but we've got plenty of new steel here , I could've made one but i'd like to keep as much original as possible.

Next job on the resto was to tackle the gearbox which didn't work

There was holes drilled in the axle ends.

    Mangled input shaft

To make the axles on the diff useable we flipped them around, first we welded the holes, turned them down and cut new keyways.

one of the bushes was worn so we machined a new one and fit it.

To turn the input shaft down we had to use a bit of ingenuity, we clamped it in a taper lock and turned it down so I can use a taper lock pulley on it. The jig worked a treat.

Next everything was cleaned of rust.

    New gaskets were made.

We welded up surplus holes.  The gearbox is now back together, primed and works as good as new

The axle bearings from the Bolens were used plus the front axle mounting bracket which was hack sawed from the frame, cut in two, excess removed, slotted and drilled to take the bearings.  The extra holes were for possible height adjustment at a later date.  Easier to do now than later.  These were pop riveted to the box section ready for welding later.

The front axle was then given a lot of thought.  The full size is a cast, tapered in two directions, webbed unit.  Something simpler was needed.  A piece of thick walled 1" square was used with tube king pin mounts.  A test piece was cut to gauge the angle required, followed by marking, cutting, bending, filing and drilling the main components.  Small infill pieces were inserted to give the weld something to bite on.

The axle mount was made up of 3/16" plate fastened to chassis box section cross members, with 1/2" bore bushes.  The pivot is an old Austin 7 king pin.  All a bit on the beefy side but just materials to hand.

I should say that ALMOST all the materials used in the entire build were saved during the clear out at John's.  Also, as I do not have proper machining facility's, most of the work was done by hand.  Hand drill, hack saw, jig saw, files etc.  I do have a small Unimat 3 model makers lathe which was used for some of the lighter machining jobs.  Also an old Drummond round bed which is in need of work and a chuck adapter.  Guess where this came from.   I also adapted an old Picador drill press to take a larger hand drill.  This wasn't too satisfactory, side play and too fast for the larger drill bits. These were more suitable for wood, not metal.  Photo's later.

The next few photo's show the chassis and axle mounted on a board ready for welding.  The rear axle mounting plates drop into slots in the board.  The two dark coloured angles are temporary and just to help keep things square.
