Deafening! Just like going to Motor Head at Hammersmith Odeon in the 80s. My ears were ringing for hours afterward!
Great video and WN? is now a living thing!

I am looking forward to get mine like that.
Looking forward to seeing it in action.

I have been servicing a customer's mower this afternoon and while waiting for the oil to drain, I gave the Bolens transmission hub lock several sharp taps with a hammer and it slowly turned. I had soaked it over the last few weeks as well as soaking the free wheeling hub/ pin on Sunday. The transmission lock now turns freely after wire brushing the rust and crap out of the grooves and sprayed liberally with WD40. Another little job done. I will try OB's technique on the free wheeling pin this weekend.
Hopefully the Wisconsin thread will be fixed.

I am soaking the free wheeling pin on the 1254 as well. Hopefully it will free up to enable moving around a tad easier. I think once you get all the bits and bobs you need on your G14 , a few evenings of uninterrupted tinkering to fire her up will be a massive step in the right direction. Fingers crossed that the engine doesn't need rebuilding but a damn good service.
Keep us posted.
I made some room in my garage last night as I sold my tower scaffolding which I no longer needed and was taking up too much space. Interestingly that space could accommodate a snow blower............
-
I think you can date a Wisconsin engine as well. I believe I saw it somewhere on GTTalk? It would be interesting to date the Bolens I got so far.
Making headway on the G14. What else is there to do on the Bolens Iain?
-
The tractor in the photo is a Bolens 1000.
-
Yes I was think that too such as Brinly plows, York rakes etc.. Now posted on the Bolens site so should get some info fairly soon I would expect.
Those brochures captures the spirits of that era of the 50s, 60s etc. I enjoy the 'reading around the subject' that make this hobby so awarding and I have a lot to learn.
-
Thanks Chris. I will get back to you on it. OB/ Iain or Chris might know the answer to this anyway.
-
I will post this on the Bolens forum if that's alright with you? There are a few fellas on there that know thier Bolens.
-
Yes, I think that's a Bolens, it got a big bottom!
-
Chris, that's a lovely period brochure that. It look remarkably similar to the Bolens LK advertising.
The joys of this hobby is collecting the sales brochures, manuals, attachments and the tractor itself.
-
-
Be good if someone on here bought it for safe keeping like I did with the Lawn Keeper.
-
The cheek of comparing Bolens and Å´heel Horses on the same page! What's the world coming to......
Lovely period brochure from that era.

I am pleased that you guys see the benefits of Aspen though it's expensive the benefits far outweigh the costs in my opinion.
I used my Stihl hedge cutter this morning to trim up several box hedges for a customer. Not used it since well before Christmas and it started second time. Job done.
-
I am watching this as well. Don't know anything about it but I guess it was WH answer to the BOlens Lawn Keeper.
-
George,
You ain't going to like this but I bought this in Berwick upon Tweed on the Borders last autumn......
I had a dose of Gutbrodism a while back, but the Bolensitis keep coming back.
Cheers
Andrew
-
Thanks Iain and OB, that's the same as on the 1254.
Cheers
-
Have you a photo of a tow hitch? I got one on the 1254 from memory. So could replicate that if it is the correct style for the 800.
-
Thanks lads. It's a great looking machine and a great source of inspiration. I can now see how the deck all connects up and how I can hook up the tiller too.
Maybe the RAM need to be done to this standard.......
-
Unbelievable collection of great tractors. I wish I got the room to store them all myself.
Thanks for sharing.
-
I got the 800 going on the re charged battery this afternoon, though it took a long time to turn over. I guess a new battery plus new belts will cure this. The old belts are somewhat frayed and a tad loose.
-
I had an Honda Acty back in the 90s which is very similar to the Brdford Rascal. Loved them until the engine blew up on my wife!
